Join An Ting Teng, a talented visual artist, for a captivating Cyanotype Workshop at Aperture Gallery in London. This special Christmas Edition workshop is perfect for beginners who want to create unique and beautiful Christmas ornaments using the ancient cyanotype photographic method. Using a UV-light-sensitive solution and natural sunlight, participants will learn the entire process, from preparing the photo-sensitive surface to developing prints. While traditional cyanotype uses wild plants as design materials, you are encouraged to explore other materials to create your own personal touch. As sunlight is limited during this time of year, an LED light box will be used for the workshop. After creating stunning prints, you will be guided in transforming them into festive Christmas ornaments. Each participant will take home at least 10 cyanotype ornaments in a beautifully packaged gift box. Children aged 8 and older are welcome to join in the creative fun, but those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. No need to bring anything as all tools and materials will be provided. However, if you wish to experiment further, feel free to bring your own design materials. Transparent or semi-transparent objects can produce captivating effects. For those who want to use their own photographic image, simply send a digital image file to gallery@apertureuk.com by November 29th. The gallery will prepare a digital negative sheet for you to create a truly unique cyanotype. An Ting Teng is a master of alternative photographic methods and holds a Master's degree in Photography from the Royal College of Art. Her works have been exhibited internationally, and she has extensive experience leading cyanotype workshops.
