DRAWING TOUR: Architecture | National Galleries of Scotland: Portrait

Look around you. Nearly everything you can see began with a drawing. Your clothes? Fashion illustration. That radiator? Product design. The building around you was an architectural sketch. Those drawings would not have been about perfectly replicating something, because that something did not yet exist. I believe that drawing is for everyone because it is a way to imagine. Come along an learn some of the Traditional Drawing Skills relating to Architecture alongisde the skill of Drawing from your Imagination. We'll look at capturing depth and detail and we'll play drawing games together to help each of us conceptualise and design our own piece of architecture. I'm Hannah Kelly, an Edinburgh-based artist and art educator - please know you're ever so welcome whatever your confidence level with drawing. My tours are about building creative courage and laughing together and seeing things afresh. This drawing tour is relaxed and playful, suited to teens as well as adults.
