"Celebrating Our Past, Building Our Future" The Hamilton Olympic Club, Canada’s oldest continuously operating track and field club, celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2026. To mark this milestone, the Club will celebrate its rich heritage presented at this Gala Event. There will be a museum on display, a commemorative book will be distributed and a documentary film of our history will be screened. A series of speakers will celebrate the club and describe the significance of the club on amateur sport in Canada, our relationship with the Hamilton community and the impact on the individual lives of our athletes. After taking my other classes or if you need help to get your bees to survive winter, I will teach you increase your hives' survival rate! Getting bees through the winter can be challenging to new and even experienced beekeepers. If this is your first year with bees or you have had poor success getting bees to survive our Canadian winters, than this course is highly recommended for you. This course content applies to all levels of beekeepers. Daniel Kneblewski will share and teach you how to manage and keep your bees in the fall season, performing the necessary pest controls and wrapping your bees for the winter season ahead. This local and custom program is based on the Ontario Beekeeping Manual, experiences gained from master beekeepers and breeders, and Daniel’s 7 years of experience. In this 2 hour class Daniel goes over the following: Late-summer nectar monitoring Hive assessment: learn how to deal with Queenless hives, nuc/single/double hives Checking, treating and double checking for mites and pests Equalizing strategies and saving your bees before Winter Learn how to check, treat and monitor for mites and other pests. Understand what treatments work best Feeding and medicating your bees Winter wrapping mastery Winter food emergency checks Supply ordering and getting ready for next year After completing this class, you will have learned that it takes more than just hope to get your bees to survive winter. You cannot ignore mites and pests. Poor beekeeping is the top three reasons why bees do not make it overwinter. With Daniel’s program you will increase your bee’s chance of survival and set yourself up for success in the following year. In this class, Daniel will present a comprehensive slideshow and perform example inspections with an empty hive. Be prepared to take notes. Checklists and handouts will be provided in this class. A digital copy of the slides will be provided to each student after the class. Students will have an opportunity to order bees from Daniel for the bees for the following year of beekeeping after the class. About the homestead teacher: Daniel Kneblewski is an enthusiastic beekeeper who has received training and mentorship from master beekeepers and local breeders. In his 7 years of experience, he has doubled his yard sizes on multiple occasions, caught swarms, bred bees, dealt with significant losses, unexpected diseases, new pests and performed on-call rescues. Golf from sun up to sun down at one of America's best public golf facilities A new addition to the Fried Egg Golf Event universe, our first ever Solstice event will be an all-day extravaganza at Diamond Springs. We'll start with a shotgun start at sunrise, have food at the ready when you come by the clubhouse, and we won't leave until sunrise. The 2026 Fried Egg Solstice Event is solely concerned with how much golf you play, not how well you play. Diamond Springs Golf Course Diamond Springs Golf Course - One of many Mike DeVries designs in Michigan, Diamond Springs is as unique as they come. The humble course is a model for municipal golf with its simple maintenance practices, enjoyable architecture, and wonderful staff. When you're at Diamond Springs, you feel like you're home. As Garrett Morrison wrote in his Course Profile of Diamond Springs , "this is public golf done right." Additional Golf Available The Mines - Organized tee times on Saturday, June 20 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Players will reserve their spots in the add-on section but pay at the course. Tee times are $55 to walk, $75 to ride. Around Diamond Springs More Golf - More details will be announced about our optional meetup, but to get things started, we would highly recommend the other great golf within an hour of Grand Rapids. Grab a Beer - Grand Rapids is one of America's original craft brew cities. Whether you want a big name like Founders or a true small batch brewer, you'll find what you need in Grand Rapids. See a Full List Michigan's West Coast - Southwest Michigan is one of the country's great kept secrets. Many Midwesterners know about the small towns in this part of the world, but for those coming in from out of town, we'd highly recommend spending some time visiting one of these towns on your trip. Saugatuck, South Haven, Benton Harbor, St. Joseph's, New Buffalo, and more are all wonderful stops in the summer and make for a terrific Saturday. Travel Information AIRPORTS - The closest airport to Diamond Springs is Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) in Grand Rapids. It is about 45 minutes from Diamond Springs. You could also drive from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County HOTELS - Diamond Springs is in a rural area but it is within 30 minutes of a couple great Michigan towns in Grand Rapids, Holland, and Saugatuck. We recommend staying in Grand Rapids as we'll be doing our meetup there the day prior to the event, but you can stay in any town. Grand Rapids has plenty of affordable options in the city, including the Homewood Suites and Courtyard by Marriott . You could also go for a premium option in the JW Marriott . Holland has plenty of options as well, including the TownePlace Suites and Residence Inn . Saugatuck is more of a quaint lake town on the shores of Lake Michigan but it has plenty of smaller BnBs and motels. It's a wonderful town for those who want to experience a less busy area.
