FREE- Young Carers Boxing Empowerment | Glyndon Community Centre

The FREE- Young Carers Boxing Empowerment programme at the Glyndon Community Centre in Plumstead, London, is a sponsored initiative by Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) and delivered by Champions 4 Change Wellbeing C.I.C. This empowering programme, commencing in April 2023 and running for three years, aims to create a safe environment for young carers to improve their physical and emotional wellbeing. Additionally, it provides an opportunity for young carers to form supportive relationships with others facing similar challenges, all while learning the art of boxing.

Champions 4 Change is proud to be a part of the Young Greenwich Partnership (YGP), which is a comprehensive program commissioned by the Royal Borough of Greenwich and led by NHS Oxleas Foundation Trust (Oxleas). The YGP is delivered in collaboration with CACT and focuses on empowering young carers. One of our long-term objectives is to establish a sustainable model for supporting young carers, ultimately leading to the creation of a Young Carers Support Hub in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. This hub will provide various resources, including boxing empowerment, counseling, telephone support, and digital skills training for employment opportunities.

The FREE- Young Carers Boxing Empowerment programme takes place every Monday from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Glyndon Community Centre.
