Join CPAWS Manitoba for a group hike at the Cedar Bog Trail in Birds Hill Provincial Park on May 4th, 2024. This 3.5-km loop trail is a perfect opportunity to explore Manitoba's parks and immerse yourself in nature. The trail takes you through grasslands, aspen and oak trees, and a stunning stand of eastern white cedar. You'll also have the chance to see Manitoba's Provincial flower, the Prairie Crocus, in bloom. The hike starts at 1:30 pm, so make sure to arrive on time. To get there, simply type 'Cedar Bog Trail' into your smartphone map or GPS. Alternatively, you can follow these directions: Drive to the West Gate of Birds Hill Park along Highway 59 and take the North Drive. You'll see signs for the Cedar Bog Trail. The trailhead offers amenities such as an outhouse and a water pump. If you're planning a full day excursion, there are lovely beaches in Birds Hill and a couple of snack shops available seasonally. We recommend the Pine Ridge Hollow restaurant and shop for a higher-end dining experience. Remember to bring a park pass, water, snacks, hand sanitizer, any necessary medication, a safety whistle, a pocket flashlight, and a basic first-aid kit.
