HEKATE'S VOICES is an immersive evening event that will take place on November 28, 2023, at Left Bank Leeds in Burley. This unique experience combines a participatory listening workshop called Bodies In-Between with a Welcoming Circle ceremony and a full moon blessing. The workshop will explore the transformative power of sound and music, focusing on the transitions between different auditory states. Participants will have the opportunity to delve into the depths of their perception, discovering new ways of listening. Following the workshop, attendees will be invited to immerse themselves in a 40-minute, eight-channel sound installation. This installation incorporates manipulated field recordings from Mother Shipton's Cave and Pendle Hill, as well as multi-tracked piano and heartbeats. HEKATE'S VOICES aims to create a space for contemplation and exploration, allowing participants to connect with the sacred fire within themselves. The event will start at 7:30 pm, with the blessing and deep listening session beginning at 8 pm, followed by the installation at 8:30 pm. Admission is by donation, with a suggested amount of £7. All proceeds will go to TransLeeds, and the event is supported by the White Rose College of Arts and Humanities and the University of Leeds.
