Details

The Intermediate Improv Course (201) in Edinburgh is an 8-week program designed to enhance the skills of improv theatre and comedy. This course builds upon the core skills taught in the Introduction to Improv (101) and helps students further develop their improvisation abilities, particularly in creating engaging scenes. Through the exploration of support, listening, character, physicality, and more, participants will learn how to craft scenes that are not only enjoyable to perform but also captivating to watch. During the course, students will delve into the techniques employed by improv performers for on-the-spot scene creation. They will learn how to establish a believable reality by focusing on key details, understand the importance of relationships within a scene, and discover how to identify and play the comedic aspects of a scene. Prior completion of Introduction to Improv (101) or equivalent is a prerequisite for enrolling in this course. Classes will be held every Thursday evening from 6:15pm to 8:45pm at the Edinburgh Palette venue, located at 151 London Road (Room G5), Edinburgh, EH7 6AE. The course is scheduled to run from January 22nd to March 11th, 2024. If you are looking to take your improv skills to the next level and expand your comedic repertoire, this Intermediate Improv Course (201) is an ideal opportunity to do so.
