Details

SiNaCa Studios - School of Glass and Gallery is excited to announce the upcoming Kid's Day Camp in 2024, a three-hour glass camp designed for youth campers between the ages of 10 and 16. This camp offers a unique opportunity for young artists to explore the art of glassmaking in a safe and inspiring environment. With a maximum of 10 campers per session, participants will work in groups of up to four in each of our three glass studios. Guided by our talented camp instructors, each camper will have the chance to create three one-of-a-kind glass projects. The pieces created during the camp will be available for pick up in our SiNaCa Studios gallery within five to seven business days after the camp. The Kid's Day Camp offers two different themes based on the season. The Spring/Summer session includes glass blowing, kiln forming, and flame working, with projects such as paperweights, message boards, and frit pendants. In the Fall/Winter session, campers will have the opportunity to learn glass blowing, kiln forming, and flame working techniques to create ornaments and flamecicles. At SiNaCa Studios, safety is our top priority. Our FAQ section on the website provides detailed information on the measures we have in place to ensure the well-being of our staff and participants. First-time campers can find a link to our Risk and Release form on the FAQ page, and we will also have blank forms available during class check-in. Please note that all campers are required to have a completed form on file. Throughout the camp, participants will learn various glassworking techniques. In the glass blowing studio, campers will work with molten glass at a temperature of 2100F, using tools and blowing air into it to shape their creations. The flame working studio offers the opportunity to work with soda-lime-based glass for bead making or borosilicate glass for more complex sculptural and blown work. In the kiln forming studio, campers will work with solid glass, cutting and layering sheet glass to create their designs, which will then be fused together in an electric kiln. Join us at SiNaCa Studios - School of Glass and Gallery in Fort Worth, Texas, for the Kid's Day Camp in 2024. This camp is a great way for young artists to explore the fascinating world of glass art and unleash their creativity. Secure your spot today and don't miss out on this unforgettable experience.
