Living Hours: A Forum Theatre event invites workers, community organizers, trade union organizers, employers, and anyone interested in improving working conditions for those on insecure contracts to join. This event aims to address the issue of insecure hours and develop strategies for organizing on this matter. The Living Wage campaign, which ensures workers earn a wage they can live on, has made a significant impact. However, there are still millions of low-paid workers struggling to secure enough hours to make ends meet. This forum theatre event, co-facilitated by English for Action ESOL students, Living Wage campaign leaders, EFA teacher-organizer Kasia Blackman, and theatre practitioner Rachel Griffith, will feature a performance that highlights the challenges faced by workers in securing stable work hours. Audience members will have the opportunity to intervene and influence the course of events. Following the performance, there will be group discussions to plan the next steps in advancing the campaign. The event will take place on March 23, 2024, at the Waterloo Action Centre in London. Wheelchair users will have full accessibility, and light refreshments will be provided. This event is part of the Community Organising for All (COFA) project, which aims to develop inclusive approaches to community organizing and explore connections with other methodologies such as Theatre of the Oppressed and participatory pedagogy. Don't miss this opportunity to be part of an important movement towards fair working conditions and a real Living Wage.
