What do the yellow raincoat, Breton stripes and fisherman's sweater have in common? They all originated from maritime culture and have been a lasting source of inspiration for designers worldwide for decades. The influences of the sea and life on the water can therefore be found in many wardrobes.

The paintings donated to the Rijksmuseum by Professor Anna L. Dallapickola bring deities, mythology, music, and poetry to life. These exquisite miniatures are rich in stories and themes. Particularly noteworthy are the chitrakatha paintings, which were used by traveling storytellers to enhance their performances. These paintings are still produced and used in traditional ways today. Other highlights include the rāgamālā paintings, which depict melodic patterns and often feature verses of poetry.

Starting November 9th, Farida Sedoc will present his monumental triptych, *Social Capital*, in the mezzanine of the new Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Using a variety of media including photography, graphic design, textiles, and screen printing, Sedoc vividly demonstrates how social capital guides direction and paves the way for a shared future. This work is part of Sedoc's "IN SITU" series, commissioned by the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. This series aims to encourage a new generation of artists to experiment in one of the museum's largest central spaces.

Nothing is what it seems in the work of artist Minne Kersten. In recent years, she has gained recognition for cinematic installations in which fiction and reality merge. Specifically for the Oude Kerk, she developed a new audiovisual installation that connects spiritual imagination with the magic of early film techniques. The twenty-five-meter-high spiral staircases of the Oude Kerk form a central motif.

The Rijksmuseum’s collection of more than 500,000 prints and drawings is one of the largest in theworld. With work spanning from 1442 to today, it includes engravings, etchings, woodcuts,lithographs and photographs. Due of the fragility of the material from which they are made wechange the selection of works in the print cabinets every six months, to tell new stories. This time weare giving particular attention to three topics: the 750th anniversary of Amsterdam, the print collagesof Michael Snijders and the drawings of Gerard de Lairesse.
