Learn what it takes to transform disturbed, barren land into a thriving wildlife habitat. Instructors : Baylee Evans, Restoration Ecology Account Manager Jack Van Vleet, Lead Restoration Ecologist HPEC’s Land Management crew is comprised of passionate, educated Restoration Ecologists who work each day to transform disturbed landscapes into vibrant, biodiverse ecosystems. The process involves careful planning, monitoring, and meticulous maintenance to replace invasive species with appropriate native plants. Beyond beauty, the land crews’ efforts rejuvenate soil, purify water, and create sanctuary for wildlife to return to. Armed with years of experience, certifications, specialized machinery, and a passion for restoring nature, the HPEC Lands Crew is the “boots on the ground” of our restoration efforts. Participants can expect to learn about the ethics of restoration ecology, tools for managing invasive species, installing native plants with IPM protocols, and creating biodiversity in spaces of any size.
