This November, Oxfam Books and Music Islington are holding the first in a series of literary events. On Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, BBC Radio presenter Martha Kearney will be in conversation with bestselling author David Nicholls who will speak about his latest book You Are Here, as well as previous books Sweet Sorrow, US, One Day, The Understudy and Starter for Ten. Following the talk there will be the chance for questions and also a book signing. Doors open at 6.30 and talk starts at 7pm Prizewinning screenwriter and author David Nicholls is perhaps best known for his third novel ‘One Day’, which won the 2010 Galaxy Book of the Year Award, was also made into a film in 2011 and, earlier this year, an acclaimed Netflix TV series. He has been nominated for BAFTA awards and an Emmy award. The well known BBC Radio presenter Martha Kearney has recently become the host of BBC Radio 4’s This Natural Life which celebrates her love of the outside world. Martha has worked at the BBC since 1988 where she was previously a presenter of BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, she has also judged several literary prizes.
