Queer Art Club, a monthly gathering for the Queer Community, provides a welcoming space where individuals can come together to share their experiences and stories. With a focus on Queer-related themes, participants have the opportunity to reflect on their lived experiences, celebrating joys, expressing grief, and learning about the community. Unlike traditional art-making spaces, Queer Art Club encourages self-expression, exploration, and experimentation without the pressure of conforming to a certain aesthetic. Various art-making materials, such as collage, watercolors, soft pastels, oil pastels, and paints, are available for individuals to engage with. The group setting fosters connections and conversations, allowing participants to connect with like-minded individuals while engaging in their creative process. The session is facilitated by Don Fazliu, a queer arts therapist and community facilitator, who introduces attendees to the Art Club and provides ongoing support throughout the session. At the end of the gathering, participants have the opportunity to share their artworks and discuss the themes explored. This supportive environment is created by everyone in the group, ensuring a safe and inclusive space for all. Additionally, attendees can enjoy the company of the gallery dogs, Ace and Fury, who are regulars at the Art Club. Please note that this event is restricted to individuals aged 18 and above.
