Explore Boal's Rainbow of Desires through the lens of the Virtues Project in this exclusive day workshop. Join Jenny and Mark, Co-Directors of the Centre for Applied Theatre at University Millwaukee, as they delve into Boal's Rainbow of Desire techniques from the unique perspective of the Virtues Project which they have developed. This immersive workshop will introduce participants to the techniques of the Virtues Project, including speaking the language, recognizing learning moments, and setting clear boundaries. The session will also include a comprehensive exploration of the Analytical Image technique, analyzing conflicts and actions through the lens of virtues analysis. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to practice the Images of "Utopia" technique, envisioning a just, humane, and joyful world. The workshop is being facilitated by RODLAB, a community interested in co-learning about Theatre of the Oppressed and specifically Augusto Boal's Rainbow of Desires techniques. Mark and Jenny, the facilitators, emphasize the aspirational aspect of human beings in their exploration of the Rainbow of Desire techniques. Boal developed these techniques as tools to uncover and awaken the strengths of a healthy personality, allowing individuals to explore not only who they currently are but also who they are becoming. Through the combination of Analytical Image and the Virtues Project, participants will discover how identifying and exercising their strengths can lead to the achievement of their goals. The Centre for Applied Theatre at University Millwaukee has developed a practice that supports the aspirations and effectiveness of every individual. Their approach is rooted in love, justice, equality, and freedom. By incorporating the techniques of the Virtues Project, they aim to combat systemic oppression and promote personal growth and social activism. The workshop will provide an interactive and transformative experience, allowing participants to practice and apply these techniques in their own work and experiences. Don't miss this opportunity to explore the power of theatre as a catalyst for positive change.
