Stout Fights presents the highly anticipated Stout PGH BJJ Tournament, a thrilling event for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu enthusiasts in Pittsburgh. Taking place on March 9th, 2024, from 11 am to 4:30 pm, this tournament will be held at the prestigious Stout Fights Promotions venue located on 2626 Railroad St, Pittsburgh, PA 15222. With separate divisions for men and women, as well as specific categories for white belts and blue belts, this tournament offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals to engage in friendly competition. Whether you are a white belt looking to gain experience or a blue belt seeking a tune-up tournament before a major event later in the year, this is the perfect platform. The tournament follows a double elimination format, ensuring participants a minimum of two matches. Beginners (white belts) will adhere to the modified Grappling Industries ruleset, while intermediate competitors (blue belts) will have the freedom to utilize straight ankle locks and knee bars. Please note that certain leg locks are prohibited, such as heel hooks and toe holds for blue belts, and all leg locks beyond straight ankle locks for white belts. Additionally, the tournament strictly disallows reaping due to the use of gi. Weight classes are divided as follows for men's divisions: 145 and below, 145-155, 155-170, 170-190, 190-220, and above 220. For women's divisions, the weight classes are 132 and below, and 133 and above. Additional women's weight classes may be added depending on sign-ups. To secure your spot in this prestigious event, competitors can pre-register for $50. Registration, as well as any weight class changes, must be completed by Thursday, March 7th.
