Join the SVBC Basic Bike Repair (VTA) workshop in San Jose at Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition. This in-person workshop aims to equip participants with the essential knowledge of bike repair. During the 2.5 hour class, attendees will learn the ABCs of Basic Bike Repair, focusing on Air, Brakes, and Chain/Cassette. By the end of the workshop, you will be able to confidently fix your own bike, ensuring a safe ride every time. The class is open to individuals aged 14 and above. It is encouraged that participants bring their own bikes to learn and work on. Topics covered include fixing flat tires, determining the appropriate tire pressure, adjusting brakes, and maintaining a smooth chain movement across the cassette and chainrings. Additional topics may be covered if time permits. Please note that only one bike per participant is allowed. Motor vehicle parking is available at the parking lot behind SVBC's world headquarters. Bicycle instruction and parking are located in our outside fenced courtyard, weather permitting, and inside our building if it is raining. This free class is made possible thanks to the 2016 Measure B funding from VTA. A patch kit and a set of tire levers will be provided to all attendees. Don't miss out on this opportunity to enhance your bike repair skills!
