Join the upcoming Walk 19 "Our Local Nature Reserves" event in Ironbridge, where participants will have the opportunity to explore four stunning Local Nature Reserves: Lodge Field, Beeches Field, Rough Park, and Dawley Hamlets. The route begins with a scenic climb out of the Gorge, leading through Beeches Field and Lodge Lane before progressing to Rough Park. Walkers will then descend into the valley, following the Rough Park way alongside the railway line towards Little Dawley. The journey continues through Dawley Hamlets and Lightmoor, eventually circling back to Coalbrookdale via Crackshall Lane, Vanes Coppice, and Dale Coppice. The terrain consists of lanes and footpaths through fields and woodland, with occasional muddy patches. Expect some steep flights of steps and stiles along the way. While the walk is of moderate difficulty, the pace is leisurely, allowing for a relaxed exploration of the picturesque surroundings. Remember to bring water, snacks, and suitable footwear, as well as prepare for varying weather conditions. Participants completing specified distances over multiple walks during the festival will be eligible for commemorative medals.
