The Walk Leadership Next Steps - Glasgow event, located near Milngavie, will take place at Mugdock Park Visitors Centre (North Car Park) on Craigallion Road, G62 8EL, on May 25, 2024. The course is designed to equip Ramblers Scotland volunteers with essential skills for planning and leading safe and enjoyable walks. Participants will delve into key navigation skills, such as map reading and basic compass work, as well as emergency procedures, necessary gear, leadership concepts, and more. Conducted entirely outdoors, the training occurs in small groups of up to 6 volunteers and is led by experienced walk leaders. Ideal for those leading Leisurely and Moderate walks, attendees will benefit from the course regardless of experience level. Completing the Walk Leader Foundations and Preventing and Managing Incidents e-Learning courses beforehand is required. Whether attendees are exploring walk leadership or seeking to enhance their capabilities, this course offers a valuable opportunity to progress in leading various levels of walks with Ramblers Scotland.
