With his vast knowledge and experience in English, history, and religion, as well as his background in educational psychology, Wayne is a true master in the art of poetry. Since his retirement in 2012, Wayne has published three compelling chapbooks: "Magmamystic," "From the Ashes," and his latest work, "Sacred Chill," which showcases his profound reflections during the challenging times of the Pandemic.

Wayne's passion for poetry extends beyond the confines of traditional settings. From 2014 to 2018, he facilitated monthly poetry workshops with incarcerated residents at Sterling Correctional Facility, resulting in the publication of a remarkable book titled "Unlocked Poetry" in collaboration with Professor Gilbert and the Lyrical Vagabonds. Additionally, Wayne has been leading two monthly poetry workshops on zoom for individuals with Parkinson's disease, an initiative supported by the Davis Phinney Foundation. He aptly refers to this therapeutic work as "Metaphor Medicine."

In addition to his poetic endeavors, Wayne is a co-founder of the Reconnect with Your Body movement, a Dance for PD® affiliated dance class and performance company. Furthermore, he is a co-founder of the Us-in-a-Box Theatre Workshop, a close-knit collective of creatives who craft and showcase original theatre pieces. Wayne's dedication to the healing power of poetry led him to become a Poetry Partner of the esteemed Institute for Poetic Medicine.

Wayne's contributions to the arts community have garnered recognition, and in 2018, he proudly received the Colorado Governor's Creative Leadership Award.
