Join the weekly Nordic walks in Kilmarnock to transform your walk into a workout! Led by WALX Community Nordic Walking Instructor Gillian, these brand new walks are perfect for those who are already familiar with the basic technique. Please note that these walks are not suitable for complete beginners. If you are new to Nordic walking, we recommend attending our Fundamentals of Nordic Walking Technique sessions first. Nordic walking is a fantastic low-impact exercise that enhances the benefits of traditional walking by incorporating specially designed poles. It engages your entire body, improving balance, strength, and cardiovascular fitness. These regular sessions are a great opportunity to get out with a group and enjoy a workout while walking with like-minded individuals. Led by Gillian, an experienced and accredited Lowland Walk Leader and Nordic Walking Instructor, each session consists of a warm-up, a few miles walk, and a cool-down stretch. Poles can be provided, or you are welcome to bring your own. The walks take place at Kilmarnock's popular Dean Castle Country Park, offering a beautiful setting for outdoor exercise. The sessions usually run from 10.30 am to 12 pm on most Fridays, about three times a month. To secure your place, simply book in advance via the Tickets page. Keep in mind that there are a limited number of poles available, so it's first come, first served.
