In French, 'parcours' means a 'course', 'way', or a 'path'. Some have described parcours as 'natural movement' as the movements learned are essential, or fundamental, to efficient whole-body movement. Basic parcours movements include: crawl, roll, run, jump, leap, carry, vault, climb, balance, and much more. We won't be leaping between rooftops, or jumping from ridiculous heights. We will be learning to move like humans: fast, efficient, graceful, and with others. Just like a pack of wild wolves! What is Nature Play?Nature play refers to a form of structured outdoor play that allows children to interact directly with the natural environment. This type of play encourages exploration, creativity, and curiosity in natural settings such as parks and forests. Key aspects of nature play include: Guided exploration of natural environmentsUse of natural materials like sticks, rocks, and leaves as play objectsEngagement in activities such as climbing trees, building forts, or observing wildlifeDevelopment of physical skills, problem-solving abilities, and environmental awarenessNature play is considered beneficial for children's physical, cognitive, and emotional development, as well as fostering a connection with the natural world.
