What to do in Ho Chi Minh

Ho Chi Minh City is a place that is steeped in rich cultural history and some of the most important modern history where references to this can be found around every corner. Nguyen Hue/Dong Khoi is the heart of District 1 and is one of the best areas to stay in Ho Chi Minh City has there are local highlights, a variety of cafes and restaurants nearby at a walking distance and there are also several luxury hotels modern hotels. However, the prices are a bit higher since it is the absolute centre of the city. Ben Thanh Market is also a good area to stay in and is located in District 1 itself and has several moderately prices hotels and is although not as showy an area as Dong Khoi but it still offers a unique, although busy and crowded experience. Pham Ngu Lao /Bui Vien offers many cheap hotels and hostels and is also commonly known as a backpacker’s district. Travellers can also choose to stay in District 3 for a more authentic Vietnamese feel and is great for people on a stricter budget and it is also close to the centre of the city.
