Ubon Ratchathani is a province and the same-named city located in Thailand in South East Asia. It is one of the big four cities in the group of 20 provinces in the northeastern region of Thailand. Located along the Mun River, also called as the Moon River (a tributary of the Mekong River), Ubon Ratchathani is 615 Km. away from Bangkok. It is also known as Ubon in short meaning “royal lotus city”. Ubon is the capital and the administrative hub of the Ubon Ratchathani province and hence is an important place in Thailand. Ubon has a tropical wet and dry climate with rainfall from April to October with dry and warm winters.
