We stayed for 1 night, tbe room was lovely, comfy carpet and beds, tea and coffee facilities were provided. The hotel was on a bus route so was ideal, bus stop was right outside the hotel. Would like to stay again.
An excellent 'home from home' stay and a great location. It's a short walk to the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway.
A warm friendly welcome on arrival and we were shown immediately to our room.
Our room (No6) has a great view and is spacious and bright. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. Tea & Coffee making facilities along with biscuits were appreciated.
The ensuite bathroom was spacious too and had complimentary toiletries.
The breakfast was lovely, so many choices to pick and the portions were generous.
A great place to stay!!

Good English breakfast included in the room price. Room decent not fancy, perhaps a small renovation could be useful. Our room was at 3rd floor without lift so maybe is difficult for those with lot of baggages. The shower was fine with a lot of pressure despite being on the upper floor. It wasn’t possible to leave luggages after check out due to serious personal problem of the owner but in general he was very friendly willing to assist as was the one of the two ladies (dark hair) responsible for breakfast, always polite.
We had a lovely stay at Diamonds Inn. We booked the Standard Suite, Ensuite 3-bed room which is located at the top floor of the building. A very quaint compact en-suite family room great for a group of friends or family. All basic amenities are there including towels, shampoo and shower gels. There’s also an electric water kettle, coffee/tea, hair dryer and a small fridge! Beds are soft and comfy. Walls are thin and may hear voices of other guests in the halls during the day but was not a major issue during our stay, mostly quiet after 10pm. Location is very convenient as its only a stones throw away from one of the famous wall entrances, a pub and restaurant across and York Minster. Host was lovely and friendly as well, called to ask if we can get an early check-in and was happy to accommodate us.

Room was nice and not too far walk from the city centre.
But after checking my bank account the day after I noticed the hotel had taken £50.00 from my account.
When I called to check, I was told it was a deposit to protect against damage to the room.
I was not made aware this was being taken and did not give any authority for them to take the payment.
I found this very concerning and I now have to wait a few days to receive the refund.
So please be warned before booking..
Such a cute place to stay in a cozy, well maintained, antique feeling, and beautiful property. The hosts are so friendly and welcoming. The included breakfast too is nice. Our one day York tour was made wonderful with MonkBridge. Will definitely recommend.
Deania is super friendly and ready to help. The room is clean and cozy.

Great
HHomayoonThis accommodation is very well situated in the heart of Whitby. The style of the communal areas are lovely. It was quite clean. The communal terrace is also nice, though spider webs could be found every where around the seats. However, there are some downsides which will prevent me from a second stay at this accommodation, which are the lack of parking, challenge of finding an empty car park nearby, extremely small size of the room and lack of essential amenities. The room is too small and you literally need to jump into the bed and stay there for everything you want to do as there’s not enough space in the room to sit. There’s only one chair in the room which is odd for a two bed room. There are no tables to sit at while two drawers are there, which seem unnecessary. There's no refrigerator. Additionally, the mattress or the extra mattress under the bed, and the pillows smelled bad which was really unpleasant. If they complete the amenities, get some reserved parking spot in the Church St car park and replace the smelly stuff with new ones, this place can turn into a decent place to stay. Thanks.
GGuest UserVery elegant old-style villa, the breakfast is very rich and delicious, the stay is also very comfortable, and the cost performance is super high! York is very quiet, and the people I met along the way are very friendly. I couldn't swipe my card in the public toilet on Butcher Street, but a local brother saw that I swiped his card and let me in. Thank you for being such a good person! This time I traveled by myself, my English was terrible, but the experience was actually quite good, haha, I recommend everyone to stay and play~
CCarlosOur staying at the Witching Post Inn could have not been better. Our room was spacious and very confortable. And the place has a lot of personality and history. If you want to know the roots of this place you can speak to the landlord, Pete. But more important Pete makes you feel at home, as you are part of the family. The stories, the jokes and the environment in the pub is so cosy that makes you feel you are between friends. And don't look anywhere else for food and drinks. We had dinner in here during the Parmo night, and the food was fantastic, one of the best we had in the area. And this includes the beer and gins. Also, we vouch for the breakfast, the full breakfast is delicious and we couldn't get enough of it. If you are staying the area, please do yourself a favor and stay at the Witching Post Inn. I am glad we chose this place for our staying, and a big thanks to Pete and all the staff for the lovely and welcoming staying
GGuest UserOn arrival we were greeted by a chap who I think was the owner who was very helpful and gave us our room key.
On entering our room was warm, heated by a portable electric radiator. The central heating was off.
On first inspection it appeared clean although there was a receipt just under the bed.
The bed was a king size but was very tired and not very supportive of my bad back. The springs creaked when you turned over.
The most disappointing aspect was the bathroom being cold and there was NO hot water. There was a heated towel rail but as there was no central heating, we couldn’t shower.
We were staying with another couple across the landing who too had no central heating and no hot water. Their bed had a memory foam mattress which they were happy with.
I went down to the now unstaffed reception to find there was no way of contacting the owner by phone.
Plus point was the Tv worked.
Regrettably we wouldn’t book again.
GGuest UserMe and my boyfriend stayed at Tan Hill for one night on 28th Dec and absolutely loved the experience. It was our first time there and we had heard great things about the place. It definitely lived up to our expectations! Rooms were very cosy, loved the decor and the extra touches such as bottles of water and biscuits for the tea in the room. The staff did really well considering how busy the place was and they were more than happy to help. We enjoyed both our two course evening meal and our breakfast in the morning. As well as the inside of the place, the drive up and surrounding area is lovely (especially as it was snowing when we went). We would really like to make staying here a regular thing when we go back to normality and would like to try the camping in the summer months.

WWing Ki JaniceIt was a very good experience staying in the Vikings. I would definitely go stay again next time I visit to York. It took us 15 minutes walk to the city centre and there is also some cafe and shops nearby.
