Breakfast and dinner were outstanding, featuring delicious dishes that showcased local flavors. To top it off, they surprised us by preparing a famous local cake to celebrate my wife’s birthday, which was a delightful and thoughtful touch. Everything was perfectly arranged, and their attention to detail truly impressed us. This hotel exceeded our expectations, and we’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a remarkable experience.

I was surprised by how small the room was for a hot spring ryokan. With two suitcases, there was barely any room to walk. There was no Wi-Fi signal in the room, and the explanation given was that too many guests were using it simultaneously that night. Wi-Fi was only available in the hallway and lobby. Although the staff tried hard to resolve the issue, there was no solution, so we had to use our own mobile data (as an apology, they gave us a small souvenir when we checked out). Additionally, the 'one night, two meals' package... At over ¥2200, it was ¥1200 more expensive than just the room, but both dinner and breakfast were very mediocre. Compared to a hot spring ryokan I stayed at previously on Shodoshima (which wasn't great either, but at least the food was refined), the meals here were far inferior. There were only three small slices of sashimi, and there were even fish scales on the fish. For ¥1200, two people could have had many better dining options outside. The hot spring was decent, but nothing particularly impressive.

But this hotel does not have a formal counter to check in, so we also need to pay attention to the brand nearby before seeing which store to go to to handle the check in service. The most unacceptable thing is that when booking this hotel, the check-in payment has been deducted, and the payment will be officially made when you arrive at the local area, and then you have to wait for 3-35 days before arrange the original return. I have waited for a month so far, and there is no refund. According to the customer service of trip.com, the payment has not been refunded because the hotel has not made a loan, so I have to wait. I can't understand this very well, so I can't get a full score on the service ...

Kotosankaku is located about a 5-minute walk from Kotohira Station and is very easy to find. The map shows that the post office is on the right, but it is actually blocked by buildings. There is a long straight road from the station. There is a souvenir shop in the basement of the hotel. It is a bit historical, but very comfortable and spacious. There are many cultural relics in the corridor for viewing, like a museum. The room I stayed in was a Japanese-style room at the Zanshuikan (with an open-air bath), which can accommodate up to 4 people and only includes breakfast for 2 people. The room was generally large, with barely enough space for 4 beds. The whole room was very clean, and there were many breakfast options, but not all of them were delicious. The dinner set was average, a bit disappointing.

This hotel had the best cosiness! The hotel offers a hot spring bath and a breakfast buffet. And for dinner, you can order a course meal for a fee. And colorful yukata are available for free. I ‘d like to stay again!!

We have a few dumplings that let us feel the warmth of home when traveling overseas. The communication with the proprietress is also very smooth. On the day of check-out, the proprietress also drove us to visit several attractions and finally gave us two big * oranges. It must be praised. It is worth recommending in the future. I will definitely stay here again in Seto Inland Sea.

The hotel is not far from the station and there is a hotel shuttle bus, which is very convenient. On the way from the station to the hotel, there is a shopping street, which is very easy to shop. Both breakfast and dinner are buffets. The public baths and private baths are both very good and highly recommended.
