The Espoir is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. The Espoir is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Kumamoto City. With Kumamoto Station just 2km away and Kumamoto Airport only 18km away, transportation is very convenient. There is no shortage of things to see in the area, with the Aso Boy, Kumamoto Daijingu Shrine and Kumamoto Castle all nearby. At the end of a busy day, travelers can unwind and relax in the hotel or go out and enjoy the city.

"It was a stay with a friend, but it was smooth from reservation to check-in, and the facilities in the room were perfect, so it became very satisfying. I was talking to my friend again to use it. Did the remote control battery on the TV run out? I couldn't use it, so please check it. It was a nice stay. Thank you very much."

Aanshimit was a very cute place!! the owner seemed like she loved the place very much, and was decorated very nicely. it’s a women’s only hostel, so i was glad that i was born a woman. i got one of the rooms - very clean, and the shred kitchen was nicely decorated. you can see the castle on the rooftop.

HHeng Chi AaranIt’s a good private house. But I’m won’t recommend if weather is cold or raining, or if you’re traveling with young kids. I travelled with my family with two toddlers. The bath and onsen are outdoors, not quite well lit and not well covered. The hot water water pressure is low, and the water is either very hot or very cold. It was a cold, raining and windy that night. It was a horrible experience for us because of the above, and the kids had a lot of trouble taking a bath. And we were worried they might catch a cold. And strangely the door lock of the bath is locked from the outside and not from the inside. Also remember to buy food before entering. We bought ours and cooked our own dinner. Otherwise, it’s a good private house, probably best for adults.

GGuest UserAso Tenshuku is the best hotel I've stayed at in Aso City. The room was really spacious and clean, with complete amenities including a TV, air conditioning, heating, and Wi-Fi. Most importantly, the bathroom was also large and very clean, with great water pressure and hot water. The owner, Mr. Lai, is a retired ********* gentleman who came to Japan to enjoy his retirement and opened this hotel. He's friendly, easygoing, and incredibly hospitable. On our first day, he warmly welcomed us and introduced us to nearby shops and attractions. We even shared drinks and chatted together. Since the hotel is very close to convenience stores and supermarkets, and local shops tend to close earlier, guests can buy ingredients at the nearby supermarket and cook at the hotel. The beef there is very affordable.

AAltheaUnlike other hotels that send you the check-in information beforehand, you are required to scan the QR Code on the door, input the relevant information before the owners email you the door access code. It wasn't immediately apparent so I had to call the owner, and wasted 15min of international call time. However, entering the room was a great delight! It was much more spacious than expected. The living conditions were very comfortable. You can lie on the shammock on the rooftop as well to watch the stars. The restaurants around close by 5pm. It would probably be better had I spend more nights here to rest and simply do nothing.

GGuest UserMy brother and me had a terrific stay in the beautiful setting. The drive up the mountain on a tiny road is well worth it. The hostess is so friendly and wonderful, and was so hospitable.  She explained the food dishes that were served using Google translate. The food was amazing, so varied and included local specialties: Trout, fried moth larvae, black moss that grows on rocks ( local delicatessen), wild hog soup, deer sashimi, etc. We experienced the finest Japanese food and hospitality. Traditional bedroom with tatami mats and access to the unsen were added amenities. Thank you for the memorable experience! Laurent

GGuest UserAlthough it took a lot of setbacks to find this homestay (I thought it was a hotel 🏨) (Ctrip's name is not accurate at all, depressed 😒), but you can’t say that I would choose a place to live [呲牙], if not outside It’s dark, I can’t take pictures, otherwise the effect would be better: next to a small river, coming in is a small garden, very quiet, the room is an ensuite, everything is there, I will come back to the hot spring after eating delicious food in the evening. ♨️, have a good night’s sleep, and you will have a good walk around tomorrow morning[悠闲][悠闲]

GGuest UserWhile the inn is in a remote location, this is not a problem if you are traveling by car as it's a mere 5 min drive from the Takamori train station - with convenience stores a short walk away. The lady host of the inn was kind and helpful throughout our short atay despite our inability to speak Japanese. Do note that the kitchen is closed but there is a working microwave oven if you need to heat up your food.

GGuest UserA very satisfying stay! The design of the cabin is stunning. The two-story independent cabin allows children to climb up and down as much as they like. The owner of the B&B is very enthusiastic. Even if he doesn't understand the language, he tries his best to use translation software to introduce Kurokawa Onsen's attractions and B&B facilities. It really makes people feel like returning to their hometown. Kurokawa is very quiet at night, and you can really enjoy the tranquility and leisure of the deep mountain hot springs. The cabin is fully equipped and can be used for simple cooking. I cooked Japanese sukiyaki pot with the children in the cabin, which was very satisfying! The outdoor hot spring in the B&B is another amazing place. Because it was summer, we didn’t make a reservation for the hot spring. The owner of the B&B enthusiastically invited us to enjoy it (unexpectedly). Unexpectedly, it turned out to be an independent open-air hot spring. I highly recommend making a reservation. It’s too Feel comfortable! The next day, the children were very reluctant to say goodbye to the owner of the B&B and the owner's dog. Along the way, they still missed the comfortable bed (actually just a tatami sleeping mat) in the B&B. I will definitely visit again next time I have the opportunity! RRainbow7throwI had a single room, and it's a fairly old hotel. It was cheap so I can't complain. It was perfect for a stay. If you're looking for something else, I recommend staying at the Tsukasa Royal Hotel right in front of the hotel. They have plenty of amenities, and breakfast is only 500 yen! There's an open-air bath, and since there were no other people there, you had it all to yourself. I'll definitely stay here again when I come to Tamana.

GGuest UserThe rooms had all the essentials and I really liked the small onsen. The only issue was the instability of the Wi-Fi which kept dropping off even after staff helped me connect to a new one. I came here during summer so I cannot comment on insulation during winter as you’re affectively sleeping in a container.
