A lovely little homestay, very convenient for visiting the Pollonaruwa ancient city. It’s not a tourist town but worth a visit for a taste of central Sri Lanka. The family were very helpful and welcoming, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. It’s a bit of a distance from town but there’s a very nice walk along the lake that takes you right to the ticket office.
Stop for one night in the economy room. It is clear that for such a price it is not worth expecting anything substantial, but the mattresses were straight very bad, just a piece of fine poron, which is instantly sold to the most boards and in fact lie almost on boards. But it was all expected for such a price, so in general approx. Beautiful territory with garden and tables with views on the rice field.
What spoiled the impression: Breakfast! Ordered it extra because it did not go out in the cost of the housing, and I definitely don't recommend taking it in this place. This is not like a classic Lanca breakfast that is served in hotels of the same price category, and is twice as expensive as the same!
The hotel is in a good environment, facing the Great Lakes. There are unwashed small stains on the sheets. At night, I went to the hotel to recommend the boat trip to the lake to watch the birds and watch the sunset. It is a very rare experience. When I came back, it was already dark. The moon in the sky, the light of the hotel on the shore, and the chanting of the monks. . . The whole process of paddling by two young people is very hard and environmentally friendly. The next day, there was some unpleasantness at the checkout. The dinner expenses that had been paid by my husband were in the blink of an eye and the same fee-paying waiter planned to take the payment of my friend. . .
Overall friendly service and helped us book tours to the temples. However, really bad WiFi in the rooms. Bedsheets weren’t that clean. Bathroom floor was kind of sticky at first, as if they cleaned it with sugar water. Don’t expect too much from the breakfast since it’s just white toast, an egg, one cherry tomato fried, and 4 sticks of French fries. The overall design of the hotel is very nice tho with a big tropical yard. For one or two nights it’s totally ok.

Location: It is about 10 minutes by bicycle to the entrance of the ruins of Polonnaruwa. As the name of the homestay, it is in the residential area. Be careful that the surroundings of the guesthouse will be pitch black at night. You should also be careful whether it is free-range outside or that wild dogs are scattered around. I was so scared that I was barked by a wild dog.
Room: It is one room in a private house. There are soap and bath towels, but there are no other amenities, so you need to bring them. When I took a shower, there was little hot water. Also, there are a lot of mosquitoes indoors and outdoors, so it is better to go to bed in a mosquito net when you sleep. I slept without getting into it, but when I woke up in the morning, I was bitten by mosquitoes a lot.
Meal: Breakfast, but I had pancakes and tea. It's normal.
I don't think it's a problem for people who fit their homestay style.
I realized that this time I wasn't very suitable for that.

アアザラチI highly recommend this place for your stay in Polonnaruwa. You can enjoy a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast on the terrace nestled in a quiet forest. A short walk away is a lake where you can stroll along the shore or watch the sunset. The room was very comfortable, equipped with everything you need for your stay, including air conditioning and a hot water shower. We only stayed one night due to our itinerary, but I recommend staying longer if you have the time.
