Hostels in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan

The restrooms, showers, and common areas were much, much, much cleaner than I expected... Far exceeding the usual hostel cleanliness standards. The overall stay was excellent too. Of course, the mixed dormitory on the 3rd floor, specifically inside the sleeping pods, might show some normal wear and tear or minor stains, but the bedding and the general environment were perfectly fine. It also felt very safe, mostly with young travelers.

I enjoyed my stay here as a female solo traveler. The bed and room lighting are adjustable, so even if you like staying up late with the lights on, you don't have to worry about disturbing others because the bed area is covered by a privacy blind. It's very comfortable to have a queen-size bed in a capsule hotel compared to many others. There's no need to climb stairs, and there is plenty of space in the room to store your belongings. You can also leave large luggage outside your room. I also managed to do some night sightseeing around Tenjin and Nakatsu. The night views were beautiful. If there’s a chance I will definitely come back here again.

When I reached the hotel, I was stunned because the lobby was crowded with people enjoying a beer night or social gathering, which is definitely not my kind of activity as an introvert 😮💨. It was difficult to reach the front desk because I had to squeeze through the crowd to get in and out. I wish the hotel had separate entrances with clearer signage, such as a ”party area” and a ”check-in area,” which would be much more helpful. Surprisingly, the lounge area on the 3rd floor was quiet and comfortable, and both the bathroom and bed were clean. I chose this place because I wanted to visit Nakatsukasa Magotaro Inari Shrine (also known as the Cyber Shrine) at night. It's about a 15-minute walk from the hotel, but walking there alone can be a little scary because the road has limited lighting, and visiting a shrine at night always gives off a spooky vibe. I went there at around 9:30 PM. Since it’s not nearby the happening places like Tenjin or Hakata, there’s is no shop opening nearby in the night (except the convenience store), but if you are visiting the Ohori Park I think it’s just about 5 minutes walking.

This was a very clean hotel. The shower room and toilet were well-maintained and comfortable. I also noticed that many of the guests were foreign nationals, which was interesting. The facilities seemed very modern and well-equipped, with QR code check-in and even a QR code for the security box. It's also close to Hakata Station, so I would definitely want to stay here again.

Summary: don't stay here. You've been warned. I've been to many capsule hotels in Japan. None were as horribly bad and overpriced as this one. Good: close to the station and the staff do what they can within their (very confined) perceived limits Bad: no sound insulation so you get to enjoy ambient sounds like traffic, trains and other patrons scuffling about during nighttime. The mattress is moldy, dirty and super thin so it doesn't feel comfortable unless you're used to sleeping on a moldy floor. The layout makes absolutely no sense at all. They tried cramming in as many capsules as possible in one small area and called it a day. 2 toilet stalls for 62 capsules? Laughable. The bath area is minuscule so you're queueing just to get a cramped dip. Lockers are minuscule and the luggage area is right next to the reception so you have to cross public area just to get some stuff out of your luggage. No space to unpack in peace either. I'd rather have them drop the breakfast and bathing area in favour of fixing the one thing they're supposed to deliver: a good night's sleep. Consider this place a last resort, not a proper stay.

Korean owned and probably caters to a lot of Koreans. Location is a 20-30 min walk from Hakata station. I probably wouldn’t stay there again because of the location and because I came to Japan for Japanese. There is also only one shower room for guys on the second floor which can be annoying sometimes. Otherwise, it was fine.

The hostel's location is a little bit out of the way, but otherwise it is close to convinience stores and Hakata station. The place itself is clean, though the bathroom and toilet is a share space. You will have to be quiet in the hostel to not disturb other guests and wait for your queue if there are a lot of guests. You also might have a little bit of trouble with check-in time since the hostel has its own policy. Otherwise, the staff explained everything clearly about where each accomodation is and the hostel rules.

Juri was so helpful throughout my stay. The female dorm is on the second floor, next to the private room. Quiet hours are respected by others who are staying at the hostel and the free washer and dryer was a lifesaver for a stay that is longer than 3 days. They provide earplugs, which I think is convenient if you share a bunk with someone who snores or if there is movement around the hostel in the middle of the night. The location is a bit of a walk from the closest train station but there are also nearby bus stops and a convenience stores along the way. I definitely recommend this place and most likely will stay here or try their other locations if I pass the area again. :)

The sound proof is better than i thought, comparing with other hostel i have lived. You wont hear squeaky sound when others getting off from the upper bunk (impressed) ＞ was worrying if its too far away from the station, but the bus station to hakata is actually 3 minutes walk only, and they come very often. convenient! Conclusion: comfy and nothing to complain!

The hotel is newly opened. The location isn't close to the subway station, but it's not far either, about a 7-minute walk. There's a 7-Eleven and several restaurants nearby. Eating out is convenient; both Tenjin and Hakata stations are a 5-minute taxi ride away. The front desk staff are very welcoming and speak good English, making communication smooth. The rooms are fairly large, facing Canal City with beautiful views and convenient for sightseeing. The room design is simple yet stylish. Overall, very satisfied.
