|2.07km from city centerMy mother and I stayed in this place for 5 days. It’s very close to the airport. The receptionist was very kind to let us check in earlier because we were super tired after a long night flight. Both of them were helpful (ordered a taxi for us,recommended different excursions and places etc). The apartment was clean and spacious. We had a proper rest and slept well there.
The only drawback I can mention is that they didn’t come to clean our room, neither changed our towels. Maybe you should ask them to do it by yourself 🤷🏼♀️

|6.05km from city centerMy recent stay at the Mandarin Oriental Muscat was overall enjoyable, with several notable highlights. The hotel’s location near the beachfront is fantastic, offering stunning views of Muscat and the surrounding mountains. The interiors are beautifully designed, featuring natural materials that create a luxurious and calming atmosphere.
The rooms were ultra-comfortable, with excellent beds and top-quality linens that made for a great night’s sleep. I also appreciated the thoughtful in-room amenities, including good tea, a Nespresso machine, and water in glass bottles—a healthy and eco-friendly touch.
The shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner provided were of great quality, and the dental kits were decent. However, I did notice that some toothpaste tubes weren’t fresh, as the paste had become solid and dry in a few sets. Additionally, the shaving kit was of the cheapest level, which didn’t align with the otherwise high standards of the hotel.
Breakfast was good but not quite up to the level typically expected from Mandarin Oriental. There’s definitely room for improvement here, but I believe this is something the hotel will refine over time. The staff were polite and professional, which added to the overall positive experience.
Considering the hotel is still new, I’d rate the overall experience, including the price/value ratio, as 3.5 out of 5. I’m confident that with time, the hotel will address these minor gaps and elevate the experience to match the impeccable standards the brand is known for.

|7.23km from city centerWas a bit disappointed with their internet connection. It was never stable and no solution provided even after raising concerns.. Breakfast was average and can be improved.
But decently priced. So in general good value for money in case you do not have work which needs internet.
Gym Is suffocating and in the basement . needs better ventilation.

|9.42km from city centerThe hotel is 7 or 8 minutes walk from Qurum Beach, convenient to see the sea view, but there is no large business super nearby, restaurant. I am a girl, traveling alone, and the stay experience at this hotel is very poor. First of all, the taxi at the entrance of the hotel is the hotel's internal car team. The slaughter of passengers is serious and unreasonable. I took it once. The original fare of 5 rias was charged 10 rias. Finally, I took a more detour. When getting off the bus, the Arab driver shouted at me for 2 more riya, quite rude. When I left, I had to take a taxi to the airport and stopped a taxi at the door, but the uncle of the hotel taxi team called the other taxis and forced my luggage to his own trunk, not saying that they had to take the same price. I was angry, but they were unreasonable, and they argued with each other. I called the manager of the hotel, and the manager looked at it and then stood by! Secondly, during my stay, I was knocked on the door by a local drunk man in the next room. I later learned that this hotel has a bar, and the local wind is not good. I did see some local young ladies in and out of the evening dressed in cool clothes. . . The above wrote his own experience, hope to provide reference for the countrymen.

The service is very good and satisfying, there is a lift, trolley for luggage, there is a swimming pool, there is a gym, there is breakfast (paid).
The hotel is very strategic, there are many restaurants around the hotel, laundry, printing, close to the beach and close to embassies from various countries.

|26.09km from city centerStaying at the Shangri La Al Husn Muscat has been one of the highlights of our time in the Middle East.
We decided to go for my girlfriends birthday and the team worked exceptionally well with me to deliver a unforgettable experience.
Getting to the Shangri La was a bit of a challenge and taxis do not come cheap in Oman. Though it was not challenging I do wish there was a pickup/drop off option for the guests.
The inclusive breakfast was wonderful and ordering off the menu assured that everything you ordered stayed fresh. There was a mixup with our order due to a language barrier but the food was still phenomenal.
The in room breakfast and room service was a highlight as it allowed you to take full advantage of the room and with the inbuilt heaters in the dining table assured the food stayed hot. The value for money on in room dining was disappointing as an order of a burger and fries came with a small amount of fries, however that was fixed with our next order.
The afternoon tea was delicious, highlights being the fromage and watermelon and the scones. Each afternoon tea was different and kept the palate excited.
The happy hour beverages were also included and always came with a suprise canapé from the restaurant.
In terms of the staycation, it was perfect. The interior and exterior of the hotel is beautiful and the sound of the ocean left you relaxed for the stay.
I would like to raise that there was a lot of sealife by the beach which deterred us from swimming in the sea as we had heard a lot about the Omani coast and didn’t have much confidence in the beach patrol and lifeguards there. We noticed some playing on their phones but they were always happy to assist taking a picture for the two of us. I would suggest a more upfront approach when it comes to what you can expect in the sea there.
A visitors lounge was also available allowing you to take full opportunity of the facilities till you left for your next adventure.

|3.35km from city centerThe hotel is large in scale and should be an old high-end hotel. At present, the facilities are complete, and the basketball court, badminton court and swimming pool are good. The reception is very good, overall it is still relatively remote, far away from the city center

|3.48km from city centerComfortable stay.
The room is clean but not as spacious as I expected. It is reasonably priced though, including breakfast.
I had trouble with my booking in the first day as they couldn't validate my payment immediately and was given a twin room instead of a king room. All is sorted out the next day though and I am thankful.
They can improve in monitoring their online booking system and in soundproofing their rooms as it gets noisy in the morning.
Over all, it was a plesant stay. Value for money is unbeatable.

|3.34km from city centerThe elite room I stayed in this time is similar to a small suite, spacious and comfortable, and there are many supermarkets and restaurants around. It is close to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and the beach. The breakfast is also quite rich. It's just that the water cups were not cleaned in time when the room was cleaned, which is a little unsatisfactory. Everything else is good.

|0.4km from city centerOverall we had a pleasant stay, breakfast was enjoyable the next day and restaurant team was friendly. Also the Egyptian gentleman in the pool bar in the evening worked very efficient, handling al the tables alone while keeping up the service level.
We only stayed 1 night and below our room there we construction noises from the ballroom area, while I approached reception I was informed it would take another 30 minutes and it stopped at 23:00. This disrupted the sleep of my daughter.

|0.93km from city centerA great location with access to the mall. Rooms were clean and well lit. They allowed an early check-in, which was a good thing. But that's where the good things end. We faced a few issues during the stay, which I think was a disappointment
1. not enough car parking space for patrons. It's always full, and anybody can come and park .
2. Squeaky beds and not that great on sleep on felt uneven in a lot of places.
3. Service was not that great either. No iron box. Weight scale not working. Blow dryer not working.
took 3 calls for them to come replace them, and even that they did not get it right the first time
4. Gym felt claustrophobia and not easy to access without clear signs.
Definitely not a 5 star...maybe a 3 star

|1.94km from city centerThis is my second visit to Muscat and I was impressed by the pool, which is over 100m long. The pool is truly gorgeous! Since August is the low season, there are not many guests at the hotel and you can swim in the pool alone, as if it were your own private pool! In fact, there are 3 pools. So you can choose the one that suits your taste. Perhaps, swimming in the Gulf of Oman did not impress me much. Let's just say that there are better seas. But, on the other hand, there is always such a small percentage of vacationers who want to swim in the sea that most people just need to go in, jump in the waves and get out. In terms of enjoying the beach, the experience here is 100% positive. The service on the beach is excellent! They constantly bring ice water with lemon and mint, offer refreshing napkins, and treat you to fruits. The hotel is designed in a traditional Arabic style and fully meets the idea of a luxurious holiday. The dark palette in the interiors emphasizes the architecture and gives a sense of sophistication. For guests who book villas, the Amouage bath line is offered. In simpler rooms - Аsqua di Parma, which is also not bad! As for the food, in my opinion, it is ordinary, without frills. I received undoubted aesthetic pleasure from staying in this beautiful place, but the hotel did not make any gastronomic impressions on me. At the same time, there are no complaints about the service. Everyone I dealt with - reception staff, beach staff, waiters are exceptionally friendly and responsive!

|6.89km from city centerDisappointing week in a disappointing hotel. From the moment we landed in Oman, the intercontinental hotel was not helpful. When we asked for a taxi, they wouldn’t help us and we had to arrange ourselves. When we asked if we had a sea view, we were told “we had a partial sea view” which was actually a car park and a loud generator which rattled on all through the night. The generator was so loud we had to keep the balcony doors closed all the time. However, one night, even with the doors closed we were kept awake until 3am with loud bangs and clatters from hotel staff loading up vans with furniture after an event at the hotel. When we asked about booking the onsite restaurants, we were told they were all closed apart from the main one. Multiple times when we went to the main restaurant we were told it was too busy and we had to wait and come back later. When we did get into the restaurant, we often had to wait long times for food to be replaced or we given paper cups because they’d run out of glasses! When we tried to get the WiFi at the pool, there was none. When we tried to use the creams in the room, they’d run out. The staff were lovely and the food was nice but altogether, we didn’t feel looked after and definitely don’t feel this is a 5* hotel.

They should have installed double glass to block loud sounds. Overall all it was joyful stay for two nights.

|14.4km from city centerI'd like to share with you a small hotel. There aren't many reviews from other people. Ctrip helped me book the hotel. Ctrip's service is still good. The modern equipment of the whole hotel is still good. At the beginning, there will be a big difference in design compared with the W Hotel. After going up, it is still good overall. It also reflects the country's emphasis on tourism, the possibility of the development of the hotel industry and the surrounding serviced apartment projects. There are very few Chinese people. Oman is a visa-free country. From the overall feeling of entry, it is still very modern and good. Although there is a so-called special channel for tipping when entering the country, 10 Omani currency, if you take a taxi, you can not go to the reservation counter at the exit of the arrival hall to call. After exiting the exit, the taxi entrance is still good.
