Cardhu Country House

It is laughable that Cardhu Country House is categorized as a "three-star" hotel. This experience was a SOLID five out of five in every respect. Colin and Sarah were engaging, kind, wonderful hosts. Location is gorgeous, out in the remote countryside, but still right in the middle of tons of distilleries within easy drive. The room was huge and immaculate. Bathroom, again, huge with a wonderful shower. The house itself is the epitome of Scottish elegance, and guests have the run of the place, including a den/living room where Colin kindly made us a cozy fire to sit beside, post-dinner. And the food? I am not exaggerating when I tell you that out of a two-week Scotland trip this was the best we ate the entire time. It was like staying in a Michelin-rated restaurant. Inventive, delicious, both breakfast and the incredible dinner. I could go on and on. The final bit was that Colin was so kind to us after a tire mishap on the, ahem, suboptimal Scottish roads caused us to miss our first night. I really appreciated his flexibility and working with us to save that part of our trip. I cannot recommend staying here highly enough!

Colin and Sarah are wonderful hosts and very knowledgeable of the area. They can provide information on what is open and available. It is a beautiful house, with spacious rooms and they provide delicious meals. Quiet surroundings, lovely scenery in the middle of many Speyside area points of interest.

We had a wonderful stay! The location is perfect—close to all the Speyside attractions yet tucked away in a peaceful rural setting. Our host was wonderful, so welcoming and full of great tips for places to eat, beautiful walks, and of course, whisky tastings. The country house itself is stunning, with beautifully appointed and spacious rooms that had everything we needed. The meals were a highlight, featuring fresh, local ingredients prepared to perfection. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable stay in Speyside!

Fabulous Country House Our stay was fabulous, beautiful country house very clean and very comfortable room. Excellent breakfast and the hosts are fabulous. Homemade shortbread in room so good with tea and coffee facilities.

Outstanding!! I felt completely taken care of there. My food allergies usually throw a wrench into things, but Colin and Sarah put a lot of effort into making sure I had as many wonderful dishes as everyone else. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing as was the stuffed pastry dinner and delicious coleslaw. I can’t recommend this place enough. 👏👏 well done ❤️

11 out of 1 Fantastic Experience! Colin and Sarah were wonderful hosts. The room was large and comfortable. The food was excellent, make sure to book a dinner! We needed an early start and they accommodated us with an early breakfast (also excellent food). If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This hotel is also within walking distance to the Cardhu distillery so that is a nice perc as well.

Colin and Sarah were fantastic! The room was incredibly clean, and the included breakfast was wonderful. We opted for the dinner and it was excellent as well.

Comfortable, Quiet and Great Location Loved this country house!! Perfect location close to a wide variety of distilleries! Colin and Sarah were extremely welcoming and the food was amazing! Lovely country home!! Would definitely stay here again when visiting Scotland.
