We pre booked a taxi from the airport to Villa Blanche via thé hotel when booking our stay. We waited 45 minutes for it. Thé airport was totally empty by the time it arrived and Villa Blanche still added à 30% surcharge.
Our Breakfast was included on our first day, it was quite simply awful - there was literally a minuscule smear
of honey and no more available, thé local breads were dry and hard/stale and the pancake was like a brick. For this VB charged 180 dirhams per person (18 euros) - meanwhile cafes nearby subsequently proved that Moroccan breakfasts were indeed a triumph at 35 dirhams (3 euros 50) The omelettes, breads and pancakes at local cafes were light and fluffy and extrêmely enjoyable and the variety of dips were delicious. Given the vast amount of fresh produce that is available within à 10 minute drive there is no excuse for such a poor selection of inferior produce at breakfast at Villa Blanche.
Our room was lovely, but quite shabby, Thé bed linen was delightful but the pillows were very hard and lumpy, uncomfortable and smelt of beef stew!
We were consistently given One towel and for 5 of our 7 nights we had to ring down for another as we were two people. This theme continued with the toilet paper, coffee pods, pen and paper etc. It wad tedious having to constantly ring for what one would assume through the daily rate paid for the hotel (high end bracket!) should actually be provided. Thé evening ‘turndown’ service was placing two chocolates on the bed and lighting à candle - this was nice but totally inconsistent happening only 4 times. Also anything left in the room like drinking glasses, Tea pot, even unconsumed night time chocolate was removed on cleaning. One tiny bar of soap was our sink alllowance for the week - thé size on à euro coin. There was shower gel and shampoo provided in the shower, and sadly the water temperature was extremely inconsistent. Thé WiFi continually dropped out.
Thé Riad was a lovely building - it had a fresh aroma , beautiful decor and was calm and peaceful .
Geographically it was
Out of town and at the very end of the beach - so no convenience shops cafes or any other services within à 25 minute walk. Taxi’s became a surprising additional expense as did thé per person city tax.
The staff were lovely, always smiling and so willing to provide what was needed, however the fault lay firmly with inconsistent management which was such a shame. Thé Hotel rate charged did in no way represent thé basic threshold of consistent good service that is expected. I feel totally vindicated in my review as I was a Hotel Manager for many years.
We Enjoyed our holiday in Agadir and most definitely will return but sadly wouldn’t consider booking Villa Blanche again. I am committed to
My observations but very sad to have to write this negative review as running à hotel is not an easy job.
If More attention to detail was added and à very small amount of ‘generosity’ (which is actually already paid for within the tariff) thé hotel could be winning 5 star reviews!
