Sables d'or Appart Hôtel

We were very disappointed with our stay. From the moment we arrived, the experience fell far below expectations. The room was not clean or comfortable, and the overall condition of the accommodation was poor and clearly neglected. It felt like the bare minimum was being done to maintain the place. The worst part by far was the breakfast. It was shockingly bad – very limited options, poor quality food and found a warm in my food and items were not fresh. It felt like no thought or care had gone into it at all. Staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful, and the atmosphere in the breakfast area was unwelcoming. Overall, this stay was not enjoyable in the slightest. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and we definitely will not be returning.

I recently stayed at Sables Dior and overall had a decent experience. The rooms were big and spacious with plenty of space to relax, which was a real plus. However, the rooms only had curtains instead of blinds, and the bathroom felt a bit outdated – the toilet and taps showed signs of rust, which took away from the overall comfort. On the positive side, the service really stood out. Everyone working there was warm and welcoming. The restaurant staff, in particular, were fantastic – they were so kind and attentive, especially with the children, which made meals a really pleasant experience. Overall, while the facilities could use some updates, the excellent service and friendliness of the staff made the stay enjoyable.

Good stay

Sables D’or is average at best. Upon check in, staff were friendly and helpful. Security guard carried all bags up to the room for us and was happy to help. When we first arrived we ordered room service which was genuinely dire and the worst sandwich I have ever had. I assume this might have been due to the fact it was late as the food looked generally okay during the day. Rooms were fine. We were in a double bedroom apartment. Very spacious with large living room. Perfect size for a group of 4 girls. They were however extremely loud, so avoid city view unless you want to be kept awake by loud motorbikes and cars driving over a broken drain all night. Clean towels each day but beds weren’t changed. Aircon only in living room so had to leave bedroom doors open. The room was in need of a facelift but for the very reasonable price you can’t expect too much. Broken door handle and very run down doors etc. A mysterious liquid appeared each night on the balcony causing it to flood daily which was bizarre as there was no rain to have caused it. The pool area didn’t feel like a typical holiday pool as it was very deep with no shallow end. No alcohol served in the hotel/pool area so take this into account is this is what you’re looking for! The main issue for us was location. It was a 7 minute walk to the sea but as mentioned in previous reviews it was certainly on the edge of the development. To reach the main area of shops and restaurants it was a minimum 30 minute walk, and an hours walk to the marina area. We didn’t mind the walk at times but definitely wished we were more centrally located. Taxis however are relatively cheap so main areas can be accessed easily this way if needed. Overall this hotel is fine for the reasonable price and did the job, but I would suggest exploring whether this location and type of hotel is for you and fits your groups needs.

One of the hotel's strongest asset is the extremely friendly and helpful staff: cleaning staff, technicians and reception, who do their best to resolve all possible issues. The best asset is the in-house restaurant with a very rich menu, really good food, super friendly waiters and unbeatable price/quality ratio.

RoomsThe hotel is oval shape where the rooms follow this design, this is the reason to why everything is off center. The tiles are all slanted ect. Yes this isn't a big factor. But when the gas cooker doesn't work and trips the electric. There was no mirror (just a standard mirror in the bathroom), the reception was good in this sense, they did fit one in, but the room had an unfinished feeling - no paintings like other rooms ect. I also found the curtains stank of sweat (didn't even close properly, had to glue them in the door but light still shun through) and due to the weird mis match of decoration, brown sofas, lime washed type tiles, washed walls, the whole room felt dirty and outdated. Cleaning was fine. They did their job I guess, but not to a good standard. Sometimes thing were left or rushed. Just the bed was made. There are also sheets that aren't secure on the single bed hence your basically sleeping on the mattress itself. Aircon doesn't reach the end room - which would make sense, that's the reason to why the end rooms felt freezing (we stayed in December). There are no wardrobes or tables in some rooms to why I grabbed a kitchen chair and used it as a mini table as there was nowhere to put my clothes. Same with in the apartment itself. Only did makeup in the bathroom where there's not a great lighting ect. Further the bathroom is more like a wet room. When I say wet. Everything gets drowned. The water doesn't contain in the shower (it's all one level), the glass door is practically useless. The toilet seat, you'll fall off, if you've had a shower and then someone used the bathroom they'll definitely slip (this is after cleaning it or squidgy it down). I would use this room as your personal pool. Regarding the shower. We didn't have a hand held appliance just an overhead shower head. My friends room was the opposite. That did not do it's job. Water sprayed out the side of just dropped out. Regarding the water. It was cold. Didn't warm up. You ended up having. A cold shower depending on the time of day. Was nice and warm in mornings (before 9am but between 9am-7pm it's cold. Warms up at 8pm but after 9.30pm back to cold shower). Was awful. Nearby activitiesThey have a pool. Outdoor and indoor. The outdoor pool is freezing. Staying in there too long will give you hyperthermia. Also there are no pool towels and your not allowed to take your room towels to the pool. So your dripping wet when you come out. Further the indoor pool is not in use. Reception will tell you it's unavailable as it's only used for training, if you want to use it you have to pay and book a trainer. I rather just go to Danialand. There is a 5 mins walk to the beach which is fine. Do your research before you go. French/Arabic is the language Food and drinksNgl the only 5* about this was the restaurant. They are all welcoming and lovely and the food is really nice and within budget (not expensive but cheaper than outside).

Nice apart-hotel on a budget! Here for the 3rd time running and we always have a good time! Definitely worth it if on a budget with family and friends.. staff are very friendly and knowledgeable! Mr.Ali is always welcoming with a smile and special shout out to Miriam who remembered us after our first holiday and has always been attentive and kind! Never an issue with our stay - communication is key if anything does accrue.. reading the 1star review seems people just complain here rather than talk to reception!

Great staff! The hotel worked out to be £90 per person for 7 nights which is amazing, yes the hotel is not perfect however great value for money, spacious rooms and amazing staff! Restaurant was excellent for breakfast and the team could not do more to look after you. Big shout out to Miriam who was amazing and always remember us when we return!!!! Definitely recommend for a nice family holiday especially when looking to get some winter sun for a good price. This is our yearly choice of winter sun!
