i really like the staff, the meals and the neighbourhood. The hotel is a 80 style structure with everything you need for a couple of days in relax in the nature. it is a truly Ryokan experience for a foreigner, because it's definitely what you saw in mangas/anime (large onsen, large meals rooms, campsite near there...). Price was ok for your rooms, and room is large and cozy. Also, it should take some refreshing, to be honest, but nothing to complain about, and the A/C should work also in the aisles of second floor. Please note that is quite far from the train station.

This is my second time using it. The building is a little old but clean. It is a comfortable inn where you can feel the hospitality. Drink bar, water server on each floor, common room, free manga corner, free massage chair. You can choose a yukata, a pillow, and a humidifier. There is an extension outlet and a hair dryer in the room. The standard course meal is reasonably priced at 2,000 yen for dinner and 1,000 yen for breakfast. However, while I think it would be nice if the inn would read it, there are two points I would like to improve. When I stayed for the first time, I was delighted to have hot tempura, probably because it was a weekday stay. When I stayed for the second time, it was a Saturday, so when I went to the dining room, the fried food (fried fish on this day) was already on the table, and it was still a little warm, but it was getting cold. . We got to our seats about 5 minutes before the start of the meal, so if we had sat down on time, we would have been cold. This is a scene that unfolds as a matter of course at a common reasonable ryokan. No matter how low the price, I don't think anyone would be happy to eat cold fried food. Even if you don't force yourself to serve fried food, even if it's simmered or cooked in a hot pot, I'd like you to serve hot food warm. There is a microwave that you can use yourself, so you can warm it up a little, but the fish fry had tartar sauce on it, so I just ate it. For breakfast, cold grilled salmon and a bite omelet came out, so I chinned them in the microwave. After all, it was delicious when warmed up. one more. Even if I wanted to stay, there were only smoking rooms available, so I gave up several times. There is also a smoking room on the 1st floor, and an ashtray is installed outside, so please make all rooms non-smoking. In any case, it is my favorite inn, so I would like to stay again.

We found this hotel when looking for somewhere to stay close to the mountains and the hiking trails along Old Nakasendo, such as Magome to Tsumago and the Torii pass. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, although the interior feels a bit outdated. The lobby offered comfortable seats to relax together, some board games, and a machine with free hot and cold drinks. Both dinner and breakfast was included and served as a Japanes style multi course menu. This was a wonderful experience and something we really enjoyed! Our host was very helpful by introducing the dishes and explaining how and in what order to eat them. We also enjoyed the complimentary hot baths, which work similar to every other onsen we visited in Japan. This was a great way to relax in the afternoon after the hike. The hotel is a 15 minute drive from Kiso-Fukushima station (where all local and express trains stop). The complimentary hotel shuttle bus made it easy to get to the station in the morning and back to the hotel in the afternoon. If you already have your hiking boots on, it is also possible to walk to the hotel via a beautiful scenic road from the local train station Harano in around 60 minutes. The hotel staff was great, very friendly, and doing everything to make our stay comfortable despite not everyone being fluent in English. For example, on our way to the station the shuttle bus driver noticed that there was a youth sumo wrestling competition held in a large tent along the road, and stopped for a few minutes to give us a chance to enjoy it.

This place locals go to for special breaks, it is rural, the transfer from train station took about 30 minutes. Our room was spacious, It had elevated sleeping area, something between bet and sleeping on the floor. Most notable was food. We stayed for two nights and had two Kaiseki-style dinners, served in dinner hall. It was 7 or so course set menu, different on two days. We also had breakfasts there also a gastronomic experience. Hotel has own Onsen bath for guests, traditionally gender separated. Special thanks to hotel's staff, who went beyond what one would expect to help us out when we departed to station without wallet. Pay-by-phone doesn't really work there. To make sure our day plans are not ruined, they took us back to hotel and to the Magome town 66km away to catch up with trail schedule.

Nagiso Himemiya Shrine Hotels
A hot spring resort hotel where you can enjoy the lotion-like hot springs and a sense of unity with nature

GGuest User 2022.05.01
I stayed at Hotel Kisoji, which I had been interested in for a long time, in time for the flower peach season. Since it is a hotel with a low price, there is no pick-up service, but if you park in the large parking lot, there are many carts in front of the entrance and you can bring your luggage to your room, which is very convenient. I called the front desk several times and asked for it, but I was grateful for the quick response. Minami Shinshu hot springs such as Nagiso and Hirugami are my favorites. The quality of the spring here is also very good. The inside of the hall is very well cleaned, and there is no problem with infection control at the buffet venue. The room was a Japanese-Western smoking room, but I was able to spend comfortably with two air purifiers and a deodorant spray. The area was perfect and very easy to use. This time, I used the Shinshu special and it was so cheap that I couldn't believe my eyes when I checked out. Even if you don't get the 5,000 yen discount, it's an inn you'll want to visit whenever you have the chance. It's hard to make a reservation, but I think it's the cheapest from the official website.

This inn is famous for its delicious food. However, as you can see by repeatedly reading TripAdvisor, where many reviews are honest, perhaps because the head chef has changed, the food is no longer delicious. It was disappointing that there were no particularly delicious dishes. The service was very good, from the manager and almost everyone in general. It is not as good as Senin Onsen Iwanoyu, which is famous for its good service, but it is quite good. As some people have pointed out, the water is too hot, but if you go at 10pm, just before it closes at 11pm, it seems to be at the right temperature. The inn's hot spring temperature management must be wrong. There is also something wrong with the air conditioning management in the room. It was uncomfortable to sleep, so I slept with the window open. There were unsightly and suspicious facilities in the building, such as an elevator that was not working. The batteries in the remote control for the toilet in the room seemed to be dead. Would the food have been more satisfying if I had chosen a more expensive plan instead of a more reasonable one?

I chose this hotel for Viking purposes. The whole hotel is good with a sense of calmness. The customer service of the employee is good. The room is the standard that is said to be a resort hotel, and the room level of a beautiful business hotel is bad. There is no safe, but there is something else that is necessary, there is air conditioner, and there is a unit bus, but there was no inconvenience. By the way, there is an electronic lock locker that is about the extent that a smartphone or wallet is put in 1F instead of a safe. The hot spring in the large bath was an alkaline simple spring and heated circulation, so I didn't expect it, but it was not bad. The feeling of inner hot water and open-air bath is different. The open-air bath is a little hot, and there is a feeling of trotro and feels like a beautiful skin hot water. The inner bath was slightly warmer than the open-air bath and did not feel the trotro feeling, but when it is near the hot water mouth at the foot, it feels pushed by the wave and bubbles are also attached. It is unknown whether it is a bubble by hot springs. The shower is a time stop water plug, but the time when hot water flows is too short. I think the room is good if you wash your body, but there is a shower booth in the public bath and you can flush hot water, so you don't feel stress when you wash your body there. I was satisfied with myself as a main dinner buffet but I liked steak. The steak baked in the live kitchen, of course, the brand pig and other meat dishes were delicious, and the meat dishes were not tired. I don't have meat of baked meat or fried food, so I think it's great without demonstrating and feeling. Of course, there is no other dishes, and desserts are not in other Vikings. However, there are few types of drinks. But I was not dissatisfied at all. Breakfast is the Viking level of the inn. If you want to eat full-fledged meat, not Winner or that, is it just curry? It was a good hotel overall. It's a bit far, but I decided to make this hotel if I wanted to eat a lot of steak. There were some drawbacks, but I would make ★ 5 because the service was flexible.

The best season for Komagatake mountain climbing is coming! An inn where you can enjoy the highland's clear air and hot spring.

GGuest User 2021.11.26
It is a wooden hot spring inn located 1 〜 2 minutes walk from Komae Ji Temple. It is a very calm atmosphere, and the guests feel like there were many elderly people. The facilities are old, but I was able to spend comfortably with a very quiet space and attentive cleaning. The bath was also replaced by men and women by the day and enjoyed two places. In addition, the room was able to stay in a room with 2 tatami mats, 2 tatami mats, 2 toilets and washbasins, and 4 people were able to stay slowly. The meal was a private room with a table on the tatami mats in the morning and evening, and it was very luxurious. If you go to Hayataro Onsen, it is a hot spring inn.

Stayed over for a night as it was one of the hotels nearest to the shuttle bus terminals to get to Komagane. Location wise, very convenient, only about 10 minutes drive to the bus terminal/ bus stops. There is also a COCO curry restaurant just beside or if you can take the car out, it will be just a few minutes drive to many sauce-katsu don places - this is famous in the area. It was a little pricey considering the current situation but at least everything was clean. Size of the rooms were standard Japanese size. Free parking too. There is a manmade onsen on the ground floor. Seems just like a big bathing spa though since the onsen isnt natural. Went at a good time and the onsen was empty. That was good. Covid-19 prevention was good, plastic disposable hand gloves were provided for the breakfast buffet in the morning. Overall, just another normal Japanese chain hotel but the location made up for it, if you are heading to Komagane.

GGuest UserThe staff really went above and beyond to make two ignorant Canadian tourists feel extremely welcome at a traditional Japanese Ryuken. Though there was a small language barrier, we never felt that we could not communicate our needs. The hot and cold onsen was very refreshing after walking post towns along the Nakasendo Way. The river next to the hotel made for a relaxing experience and deep sleep. Somehow, I missed the option when booking to select the dinner option, there is really no other food options in the area, and the clerk (owner) said he would put a 'simple meal' together for us for a small charge which we found acceptable. The kaiseki that followed was some of the best and most authentic Japanese food we experienced in our two weeks in Japan. The woman serving us was an absolute gem and the cat that ran the establishment was adorable. Our room was very comfortable and had a nice sitting area with a view of the river. Only points of contention would be that that it's a little out of the way if you don't have a car, but is conveniently accessable by bus with ~10 minute walk. The facilities are a little dated, the onsen is discoloured, but I assume that is from the natural minerals. There was a stale smell (smoke) in the rooms which is a bit off-putting to non-smokers. It would appear smoking is allowed in the facility which might be a plus to some.

GGuest UserThis is a reasonably priced national lodging located on a hill just a stone's throw from the sleeping area. The Kiso region produces high-quality cypress, and the interior of the building has a bright atmosphere, with plenty of cypress used, and the hallways have a pleasant cypress scent. The Western-style rooms have been renovated, so they are simple, but modern, clean, and spacious. Also, the bathroom in the room was new and clean. There is no open-air bath in the large public bath, but it was a clean bath. The water wasn't that hot. I thought it would be better if there was a screen door to let the outside air in. In the washroom area, there was a pearl barley lotion. Cold water is outside the bath. Even though it was a day-use hot spring, not everyone came. Therefore, I was using it alone. It's a luxury. This time it's just the two of us. I was disappointed that I couldn't use the bath in the morning. I've stayed at various hotels and inns, but I think this is probably the first time I've stayed in one where I couldn't use the room in the morning. The explanation was that there were fewer users in the morning, CO2 emission limits, carbon neutrality, etc. However, there was no tea cup in the room, there was a disposable plastic cup, and the three remote controls were covered with plastic covers that could be thrown away immediately, which made me wonder what was wrong with the room. Later, when I looked closely at the fact that the public bath cannot be used in the morning, I noticed that the usage times were listed in a small section on the homepage, but they were not listed on the reservation site. In addition, Toron Onsen is an artificial hot spring made from natural medicinal stones. It is said to have the same effect as a natural hot spring, using the natural ore tron stone, which is only found on the earth. I knew about that, but I heard that I thought it was a natural hot spring. I had no choice but to take a bath in my room in the morning. Although it is a unit bath, the legs are long enough to stretch out. Well, you won't know much about any inn until you visit. We had dinner at the restaurant. When you take your seat, the items are brought to you one by one, but the chawanmushi is piping hot and the tempura is freshly fried. There was also tempura with cheese sandwiched between apples. Other than the lack of sashimi, it was a pretty good dinner at a typical inn. As for the drinks, the local sake Nakanori-san's Dry Nama and 300c of Namazake from the sake brewery Nanawarai that I wanted to visit today were both reasonably priced at 880 yen. Breakfast was a Japanese set meal, and rice, apple juice, and coffee were self-serve. The customer service at this inn, including the restaurant, felt quite businesslike. I don't think I'll visit again because I can't take a bath in the morning.
