What an excellent hotel this is. Wonderful location. Beautiful pool area. Very clean throughout with well kept gardens. Downsides. We didn’t care for the tea/coffee machine at breakfast and felt that they could have been better located. Also, the tables round the pool could be cleaned more regularly. However, these are minor gripes. We had a fantastic holiday and will be returning next September. The complimentary minibus is a great service. Thank you to all of the staff. See you next year!

We chose this hotel largely because of the many reviews describing it as warm, friendly, and welcoming. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. The hotel’s strongest points are its beautiful views. However, the overall service fell well below our expectations and significantly impacted our holiday. Throughout our stay, staff generally appeared disengaged and unapproachable. Friendly interaction was minimal, non existent and several other guests we spoke to shared similar observations. This was particularly surprising as we have always found Greek hospitality to be exceptionally warm and welcoming. The location may suit some travellers, but it is worth noting that the area is quite commercialised. At the bottom of the hill you’ll find the main road, restaurants, shops, and the beach. Those seeking a more authentic Cretan atmosphere may prefer Old Town Chania. We particularly enjoyed the tavernas around Rokko taverna( put that into google and you will quote a few delicious places to eat around there) , which offered excellent traditional food and much friendlier service. The room itself was disappointing. The bed was uncomfortable, and the bedding was not fitted properly, exposing a stained mattress protector underneath. Bathroom was small. Housekeeping was also inconsistent, with towels occasionally removed and not replaced. Breakfast lacked variety, particularly for vegetarians. The fruit selection was limited, orange and watermelon everyday. Given Crete’s reputation for fresh produce, we expected a wider choice of local fruit and more varied options overall. The most concerning issue occurred when €100 went missing from our room. While I appreciate that cash theft can be difficult to investigate, I reported it to reception simply so management was aware. The matter appeared to be dismissed without any visible attempt to investigate or follow up, which left us feeling uncomfortable and unsupported. Granted I should’ve put cash in the safe or in a safe place, although I’ve never had this problem before. Overall, the hotel has potential because of its setting and views, but our experience was let down by poor customer service, inconsistent housekeeping, and disappointing food. Based on our stay, I do not feel the hotel reflects the positive reviews that influenced our booking, and I would not choose to stay here again.more a 2 star

I give this hotel a 3.5 stars, and I would return if I wanted a very relaxed getaway. We will start of with the pros, lovely check in with reception gave us all information about the hotel On a sheet, rooms were big clean and had great air con and had a book explaining the area and what you can explore or tours also has so much more information at reception. Also has a dnd or make up room sign on the rooms, a fridge which was great at no charge. All areas of the hotel are clean and well looked after beautiful layout with amazing plants everywhere, beautiful views all around of the mountains and the beach. The bar has an alcohol menu and then a food menu great food but little selection to choose from does smoothies which is great but takes some time to come out due to only having two people work on the bar, they have entertainment some nights and will slip an invitation under your door. The walk to the strip is about 15 minutes I didn’t find it difficult to do so wasn’t a problem, has alot of restaurants and bars but you do have to walk further along we walked about 15 minutes more down the road to find different restaurants, has loads of beach side restaurants which is beautiful when the sun is setting. We had our room made up for us while we was here and it was made very nice and cleaned and had fresh towels on the bed only thing I did notice is that they didn’t change the sheets it was re made with the same sheets so not great as we was there for a while so I would like fresh linen. At the end of the hill if you turn right there’s a taxi service which is great you just ask to go somewhere and I have always been able to get straight in and never had any money problems so we visited chania twice Now we will talk about the cons, as said before the bar didn’t have much selection on the menu and took a while to get our food as there’s only two people working the bar and I think the bar shuts at 11/12am as we went down there at 12 And it was shut. Due to the size of the hotel (having 3 separate buildings) I thought they would have another pool or at least more sun beds as half way through our holiday more People showed and we couldn’t get sun beds for the rest of the holiday. It is away from the strip But if you use the shuttle bus it’s so much easier but if there’s more than 8 people they have to come back for you which is a pain as you’re waiting even longer for it. Cleaning ladies were unbelievably loud at 7am dragging stuff or there trolleys rolling, the building seems to be quiet thin as you can hear a lot of what’s going on in the hallway, ceilings and walls and it’s just luck if you get people that are respectful enough to be quiet. Bathroom is small you have to half shut the door to get to the toilet and the shower is very small width wise me and my other half would hurt our arms on the door or the shower wall. The bed sheet is ridiculous it wouldn’t stay tucked underneath the bed so I would have to remake the bed every night. The WiFi itse

A lovely hotel, with great views and a very nice pool/ bar area. There is also a pretty and well maintained garden. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms and pool area are cleaned daily to a high standard. The beds are comfortable and the A/C helps you get a good nights sleep in the hot climate. There is a great selection for breakfast, which changes daily, everything we have had whilst staying has been very good. Including food and drinks from the pool side bar. The hotel is in a position that allows easy access to Agia Marina and Chania. There are lots of lovely restaurants and Tavernas to try in both. There is also a lovely restaurant called Thoro a 5 minute walk away. Our stay at the Eleftheria Hotel has been lovely. I would highly recommend staying here.

We loved our stay here once we got our bearings and figured out where to go and to time it right with the shuttle bus which is a godsend as we had glorious hot weather. The buffet breakfast was more than adequate for a 3 star hotel. If you can't find anything to eat than I do not know what you want! We stayed in the block furthest away from reception and it was very peaceful. I will say though the room was clearly newly furnished it looked nothing like the room we booked on Jet2 but that was fine. Side sea view room 509. The views are fantastic round the pool and restaurant area. Agia Marina itself was lovely. Lots of great tavernas, higher end beach & bars restaurants. Something for everyone. We will return

This is our second stay with this hotel, we absolutely love it, the staff are all fantastic, so friendly, shout out to Mr D running the bar and pool area like clockwork, and also to thias, and karen, you guys are amazing. Hotel is very clean, meals have something for everyone, a good selection. Had issue with bathroom light, it was sorted straight away. Will certainly be returning to your lovely hotel.

Holiday with friends. Previous people have explained everything about the hotel. Yes it's away from the town and up a bit of a hill ( hard in the heat!) but yes the hotel puts on transport. At night we got the restaurants to get us taxi 10 euros. All the staff really lovely. A couple of nights we ate in and for 20 euros the food was fine. The best restaurant was Rustic Garden...delicious. The beach great and places to eat there. This hotel was a nice surprise.

Let’s start with location. Description is on a hillside, yes it is and it’s a steep climb. There is a complimentary bus service which needs to be booked. However being a couple who prefer to walk we took on the challenge of the hill. 820m takes you to the first couple of restaurants and shops but the main strip is further on (turn left) and there are some good restaurants up side streets. 850m to beach we used the CJ / Eden beach area but the beach is long and plenty of payable or free sun beds along the beach area. Hotel: check is very quick and smooth. We booked a superior double with sea view. Tourist tax is €5 a day and safe was €2 a day. Air-con was free. Room: room was very big, okay storage but could have done with a few more shelves. Fridge and safe inside wardrobe. Small TV with one English channel which was a movie channel. Bed was comfortable but pillows could be better. Towels changed every other day. Bedding maybe twice a week? Now the downside of the room .. bathroom was tiny and shower cubicle was very narrow. Hairdryer available but in bathroom which I did not use as I prefer to use my own. Cleanliness of room was okay. I liked the do not disturb sign and make my room up signs to be a modern addition. Breakfast: available until 10am but after 9.15am less availability and not topped up. Continental section, Hot food was either scrambled or poached eggs, bacon, sausage, beans and porridge , pastries, bread, one toaster which was in the wrong place as next to juice machine and coffee machine creating a bit of a bottleneck, Fruit and yoghurt section. Pool area: no issues with getting a sun beds after lunch. Mixture of sunshine and shaded areas. Large pool 140m deep and a small children’s pool. Pool bar: variety of drinks but on occasions needed more than one person serving. We did have two lunchtime meals. One we sent back a chips were cold. Small glass of wine €3 and large draft Mythos €5 Staff: friendly Overall a lovely clean, well maintained hotel which is in a peaceful location and if it wasn’t for the fact that it was on a hillside I would have returned again.

Once again what a wonderful holiday we came again for the 3rd time but brought the rest of the family.Thoroughly made to feel welcome as soon.as we arrived big shout out to Dimi and Thias (hope i spelt her name correctly) who went above and beyond as always. We absolutely loved the new Entertainment especially joining in with the Karaoke (I do feel there needs to be more choice entertainment though thats my only gripe).Room was clean and was always cleaned when requested and the food at breakfast was lovely (please put more cake on😂). Our light in the bathroom broke but was dealt with immediately by the staff without hesitation. We are booking to come back next May/June and bringing our friends with us. The views from the pool are just breathtaking you won't be disappointed and the grounds are clean and gardens are kept pristine. See you next year See you next year
