My partner and I stayed 2 nights in the beautiful room with private pool facing directly into the sea, staff was friendly and helpful when we had a blackout on the first day which was sorted pretty quick. Breakfast was average/good. That’s about it for the good things. What brings dramatically down the rating is the restaurant: I’m a head chef in central London, been in the business for 16 years and I never came across something like this. The menu is massively overpriced for what you get, I understand very well the need to make a profit out of food (or perhaps the need to balance out something else in the hotel? Or paying for the view?!) but those were prices for a 5 star hotel fine dining restaurant in Knightsbridge (where I worked for 5 years) not for a 3 star in a remote part of Crete. The ceviche had probably half a kilo of wakame (sea****) salad topped with few slices of fish. The orzo pasta at €28, with 2 prawns in it, I think it comments itself. Probably the biggest rip off I’ve ever seen in my life. The last time I saw a bouillabaisse it was a red, fish-pulpy soup, we got a green cream which didn’t really taste like fish. On the other hand, the lamb and the shells were good and the crab salad a very beautiful and tasty dish. Service though, was even worse. On the first night I ordered a Mythos beer which wasn’t available, fair enough, not a problem. I then asked the young waiter to bring me a Mamos, he offered me to try one of the local beers and I said fine bring me a Psaki. He turned up with a Mamos. Also, he had a block note pad with him but instead of writing down the order he came back few minutes later double checking what I’ve ordered, still getting it wrong after we confirmed twice what we ordered. On the second night we had another waitress who seemed more prepared but turned out she wasn’t really, in fact this time I got the right beer I ordered but even if my order was written down they still forgot to send the beef carpaccio I ordered. Probably was better like that so I could save few quids from this mega rip off. The only reason we chose to have dinner here was because our CONFIRMATION EMAIL stated that we had a budget of €20 PER NIGHT PER PERSON (as you can see below) but at the moment of check out we got smartly told that it would work that way only with a half or full board reservation. What you don’t do to scam people…A total of €144 for 2 dinners with awkward services and 3 out of 6 dishes unworthy. I thank god my girlfriend doesn’t drink and I prefer the much cheaper beer…. Honestly I’m not happy to write such a review, I’ve probably never done it in my life, but working in the industry and knowing how it operates I strongly suggest visitors to avoid this place to eat. If you require half/full board to enjoy the discount, bloody specify it in the confirmation email, don’t scam tourists this way, you live thanks to tourists. One last thing, we ate out and about in the island for 7 days, literally everywhere we ha
