W15 Escape

Our experience at this lodge/hotel has not been the best. We were here for three nights. The lodge has only six rooms and therefore has a cosy atmosphere. The buildings are really old and so are the amenities. On the first morning we had no hot water and made a complain and the next day we had great hot water for the shower. Them today on our last day again there was no hot water! The breakfast is average and some of the bread served at breakfast had mildew. The lodge is absolutely not worth the $200 plus a night we paid! Not recommended for a seasoned traveler!

Rooms unclean, poorly maintained, door locks broken, curtains had mold marks, some lights didn't work, lacked basic amenities such towels bath mats, we had to wait for hours to get towels, parking only 3 slots, disturbed to move vehicles.

We eagerly anticipated this holiday for months, with thorough planning. However, our excitement turned to disappointment upon arrival as the rooms didn't match their Instagram portrayal. They were far from the expected standard, lacking finesse. The unexpected open bathrooms, only separated by an unclean curtain, were not disclosed Though the staff tried their best and were sincerely apologetic, their efforts were limited. Accountability lies with the upper management, and we believe some form of compensation should have been offered.

Privacy is available for sure since the property is secluded. Rooms are spacious but not clean enough for a 5 star hotel standard. Linen is old, crusty and dirty. Curtains are filthy. It’s always better to include a TV and a phone to the room. Without the phone you always have to go to the reception. The à la carte menu is very limited for a 5 star property. The open concept toilet is great but it’s better to get new blinds. Couldn’t even turn the lights off because switches weren’t working!

Cute place at an affordable price. The waiter got the breakfast order wrong despite being told three times but the staff was quick to rectify it. Nice pool and adventurous bathroom open to the outdoors (it is secluded and private). Nice place to stay for a few days or so.

We had an amazing stay at W15 Escape Ahangama. We went as a group of friends for 2 nights and were fortunate enough to have the whole place to ourselves. The rooms were lovely, spacious and very nicely designed. The staff were extremely kind and accommodating and helped us immediately whenever we required assistance. When we left for galle for a day, all the rooms were nicely cleaned and or organized when we got back in the evening. Overall, we had a lovely experience and a really nice time and my friends and I would love to come back again some time soon.

Eventhough the architecture is beautiful the cleanliness is so poor. We stayed at the no. 2 garden suite where it was so disgusting to see the uncleaned bedsheets and pillow cases. There were hair in the pillow cases which clearly shows that the hotel hasn't removed after the previous guests departure. That was a horrible experience. Then the towels to curtains were very dirty. Also the straw which i was served fir the juice glass had stains inside and had to ask to change then and there. Overall we did not experience a good service from the hotel and will not recommend either.

I had a fantastic stay at this villa on the southern coast! The in-house amenities are impressive and the service is outstanding. With its close proximity to the beach and luxurious features, this villa offers exceptional value for money. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

Although the design, architecture and first look of the hotel was great our experience was one of worst I've experienced. We booked 6 out of the 7 rooms at the property for a one night stay with 12 adults and 3 kids and a baby. 1. Only 1 room was available for check-in on time. All other rooms were given about an hour and a half late 2. There was no creamer / coffee mate in the rooms and when requested they provided 2 each and was so hesitant to provide a few extras and even said they don't have anymore available. 3. Room 2 is absolutely unclean, with a big disgusting looking stain on the curtain and one of the towels provided was also dirty. 4. Very limited pool towels available. So if all the rooms are booked they will most likely not be able to assure you get one on time. 5. The staff were in a rush by 6.30 pm to get to personal matters and said if we needed to order anything additional to inform them soon. We therefore decided to just go out for an early dinner 6. The worst was breakfast, English breakfast which said choice of egg, was served as bulls eye to everyone and non of us were asked for a choice. There was no hash brown and it was canned asparagus that was served. The Sri Lanakn breakfast (string hoppers and curry) were all purchased from a different shop outside, brought in to the hotel wrapped in newspaper inside a shopping bag and served. They took over an hour and a half to serve the last 2 English breakfast plates from the time they started serving the 1st plate. We all came in for breakfast at the same time. The Sri Lankan breakfast took over an hour to arrive as well. There was no method or any organised manner to serve the morning juice and the team seemed pretty annoyed with taking the orders that fee of us didn't even bother having the morning juice and checked out early. The only positive thing I could say is they provided full meals for the baby. Would definitely not recommend this property to anyone who's going with family.
