Hidden away nearby from the busy main road in Ahangama this is a really nice play to stay which I can recommend. Although I travelled with members of my family, we all had separate rooms, which look out onto a green grassy courtyard area with the swimming pool nearby. Jude as the new General Manager is one of the friendliest and most hospitable people in the whole of Sri Lanka and goes out of your way to make you feel at home in the hotel and welcome in Sri Lanka! I was ill with an upset stomach for a few days while there and he was most helpful in getting me better. Lots to see and do in Ahangama and nearby areas so it's worth staying here!

My recent stay at W15 Ahangama was extremely disappointing and far below expectations. Starting from the front desk area, the property gave a very poor first impression. The entrance looked abandoned and unclean, which is not something you expect from a hotel operating under the W15 brand. When it came to the rooms, I was genuinely shocked that this property is part of the W15 chain. The room looked more like a budget room worth around LKR 2,000 in Colombo rather than a boutique hotel experience. It was easily one of the worst rooms I have ever stayed in. Basic amenities were missing, and the bedding had multiple patches and dirty marks, which made the stay uncomfortable. Additionally, the room was filled with dust coming from the wooden roof, making the overall environment feel poorly maintained and unhealthy. The washroom condition was even worse — it felt like a mosquito breeding ground and clearly lacked proper maintenance and hygiene. Another major issue was the broken room curtain. It could not be properly closed, and I had to use a hair clip to keep the curtain shut to maintain privacy from outside. This was extremely inconvenient and unacceptable for a hotel of this category. Breakfast taste was somewhat acceptable, but the quality was not up to standard. Moreover, the person who served breakfast was dressed in casual shorts and a t-shirt, and it was difficult to even identify him as a staff member. This felt highly unprofessional and not in line with the expected service standards of a hotel under the W15 brand. The only reason I stayed was because my booking was non-refundable. From the moment I entered the property and saw the room, I realized there was little point in raising concerns as the overall standards seemed far below what should be expected. Overall, this stay was very disappointing, and I would not recommend this property to anyone expecting the usual W15 standards or even basic comfort, cleanliness, and professionalism.

Unfortunately, our stay at W15 Ahangama Escape was extremely disappointing, mainly due to misleading information, poor service standards, and lack of response to guest complaints. Before arrival, the reservations team confirmed in writing that the hotel offers additional meals via an à la carte menu and even shared the menu with us. However, after checking in and attempting to order dinner, we were informed by the staff that no à la carte service is available and that the hotel operates on BB basis only. This clear contradiction caused unnecessary inconvenience and shows serious miscommunication between head office and the property. We were also traveling with a baby and had requested a baby cot multiple times, including at the time of booking and again before check-in. At no point were we informed that a cot was unavailable. Upon arrival, we were given a single extra bed instead, which was unsafe for an infant as it lacked proper wooden support under the mattress. Basic amenities were another issue. We were advised by email to request dental kits from the front desk, but upon asking, we were told they were not available. Shockingly, a service staff member initially offered their own used toothpaste, which is completely unacceptable from a hygiene perspective. We then requested that a new toothpaste be purchased and even provided money in advance. As we were with a baby, we did not go out at night ourselves — yet the promised item was never delivered. The pool and garden areas were poorly maintained, and there was even a frog in the swimming pool, which clearly indicates a lack of cleanliness and proper upkeep. Most disappointing of all, we emailed our concerns to the property during our stay, but received no response at all. The lack of acknowledgement shows a complete disregard for guest feedback. Overall, this property fails to meet basic hospitality standards, especially for families traveling with infants. Due to misleading communication, poor hygiene practices, untrained staff, and management’s failure to respond to complaints, I would not recommend this hotel and strongly advise future guests to reconsider before booking.

Filthiest hotel I’ve ever been to.. charged 33000 LKR no amenities whatsoever. I’m with 3 kids and I just can’t leave this filthy place coz there are 2 cars parked behind mine in this tiny car park. Don’t even think of stepping in to this shot hole. I usually read reviews before coming to a hotel, since this was a W15 hotel I reserved without a second thought. I can’t believe the chain is running a place like this. This needs serious renovation!

Our stay at W15 Escape Ahangama was an incredibly pleasant experience from start to finish. The overall arrangement and ambience were superb, creating a cozy and relaxing setup that is perfect for a getaway. The staff truly made our visit memorable; they were all exceptionally friendly and attentive. In addition to the great service, the breakfast was amazing. It was definitely a highlight of our mornings! For couples looking for a tranquil and intimate setting, I would highly recommend this place. The cozy setup is ideal for romance and relaxation. The location is fantastic for exploring the area, as it's within walking distance to both Beach Ahangama and the main city. This convenience makes it easy to enjoy the beach or grab a meal without needing transport. I highly recommend W15 Escape Ahangama. It's a beautiful place for an escape!

W15 Ahangama brings down the entire chain of W 15 resorts. The room & washroom locked so unclean. We checked in at 2.30 pm on the 25th of February and there was no responsible person to welcome us. Couple boys and a person in shorts were there. We stayed here since I had to leave by 5.30 am for Whale watching and around 10 am a couple occupying the Room next to us started a huge fight with shouting and screaming. We were unable to contact any one from the hotel. We canceled our room that we had booked for the other day and left. Judy the manager promised to give me something for tea since I was going to miss breakfast the next day, but when settling the bill next day they charged us Rs 2,500

I have been a loyal guest of W15 Ahangama and its sister properties for years, and I have always recommended them for their exceptional service. Sadly, my recent stay on Feb 4th / 5th with the family was a nightmare. From the moment we arrived, basic expectations were completely ignored – Listed Below 1. No Welcome Drink 2. No Wi-Fi passwords were provided 3. No Daily replenishment of complimentary drinking water 4. The room was filled with Mosquitoes 5. No Tea and coffee amenities - only an electric kettle and water was present 6. No Standard toiletries (hair shampoo, Conditioner, shower gel, etc.). Shockingly, an ordinary lifebuoy shampoo bottle was there, which is not W15 Standard what we know of. 7. No Breakfast Food Options, Unlike other sister properties in the chain like Glenfall/Weligama/Gregory, where guests can pre-select from a variety of food options (Sri Lankan Menu or Continental Menu. There was no B&B - Food Menu. We didn’t know what we would be served to eat until it arrived on the table. We paid LKR 31,000/= just to eat some fruits, normal kade paan toast, and eggs and sausages, butter and jam. It felt like they hadn’t thought about guest experience at all. But in the previous occasions (2024 December) when we visited W15- Ahangama, we had a variety of food for Breakfast Fruit Juice Glass, French Toast, Waffles, String Hoppers, Rotty, Kiribath etc for a slightly less expensive package. At that time the staff was courteous and friendly enough to ask us before us to ask about our breakfast plans on the previous day itself. - On Feb 4th, We went surfing in the evening and came to hotel late, exhausted thinking there would be an A-la carte Menu for breakfast. But to our disappointment, this time there was no A-la carte Menu although W15 other sister hotels have this option. But But not W15 Escape – Ahangama had this option last time. I guess the chef who used to work on A-la carte last time, wasn’t present after 5PM. We are surprised that at other W15 locations, they had a chef and food in-house to offer the guests. Service, which used to be the hallmark of this W15 brand, was practically nonexistent. Apart from the security staff, no one seemed interested in helping. Every interaction was met with excuses rather than solutions. When we were checking out, a Manager named "Jude" came to us and asked for comments. When we addressed all the above-listed issues, his answers were as follows. - Sorry Madam, we couldn’t give you the welcome drink, because I wasn’t there so our staff missed it. – what he means is he runs the show there, if he’s not there, everything wil come to a halt. - Sorry Madam, we couldn't keep tea & coffee in the room because we want to give fresh Realtime made beverages to the guests, so if you had asked our staff we would have made it promptly and given it. - what he means is we forgot to provide, but why didn’t you remind us to do our job ? if you did so, we would have kept it.

Our stay at W15 Ahangama was exceptional. The hotel has a nice garden view. It’s very calm and quiet. The room was spacious and vey minimalistic, doesn’t have TV, or mobiles. The washroom was an open washroom which was quite new for us. All in all it was a prefect stay and worth the money we spent. The hotel staff helped us to hire a scooter so we could explore Ahangama during our stay.
