Mirage Hotel Al Aqah

Well, I was pleasantly surprised by this choice. I didn’t expect to be satisfied by a hotel for such a low price. But my room was clean, full of convenience. Especially I appreciate the service level of this hotel. Workers are always kind and ready to help with any issue. The location of this hotel is pretty good, there are supermarket, restaurants, laundry, pharmacy and other stores nearby.

At check-in, they kept us waiting 30 minutes to inspect the room, even though we arrived around 8PM! When we got to the room, there was no towel, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and the water hose was ripped! They brought us towels at 11:00 pm, when we were already in bed. Also, the water heater was off, and we ended up realizing we had to turn it on ourselves after having a cold shower!!! The only positive was that the room was clean!

I would like to share my recent experience regarding my stay at the hotel. Upon my arrival, I was informed that I had been assigned a smoking room. However, upon entering, I found that the room had not been adequately prepared for that purpose, as there was no ashtray, and the windows lacked anti-mosquito nets. Additionally, I encountered several issues in the bathroom. The handheld bidet sprayer was not functioning, and the sink in the shower room was blocked. Furthermore, the room itself had multiple lighting fixtures that were not operational. The Wi-Fi connection exhibited significant slowness and instability. Items such as bathrobes, slippers, and a dental kit were not provided, necessitating a call to the reception desk for these essentials. Unfortunately, there was a considerable wait for their delivery. Moreover, the noise levels from the corridor were disruptive, as other guests were conversing loudly and playing music at an excessive volume. I reached out to the reception to address this issue, and while the noise subsided after approximately one hour, it contributed to the overall discomfort of my stay.

Budget option on the east coast It is a basic and reasonably priced hotel compared to nearby resort options. It is stated as 3.5 stars but I would have guessed 2.5. Check-in process was slow as they could not find the reservation. Receptionists are not rude but lacked any sense of customer service. Room is large with furnitures that feels a bit old and worn. Bed was large and had nice and fresh bedlinen. If your room is towards the street you will need earplugs. My suggestion for improvement includes looking the customer in the eyes and greet them as they approach the desk. It is a free and goes a long way to start a mutually friendly conversation. If there is any investment available to the property, consider sound proofing the windows towards the street. In the meantime, consider adding earplugs among the amenities.

This is not the first time my husband and I stayed here, staff are so helpful specially Ivy at the restaurant. She gets the feedback from the guests and relay these messages to the management. We used to complained about the breakfast but this time it was different. The presentation of the food and the way it was cooked so totally different. Thanks to Ivy and Amr for a wonderful stay.
