This Marriott is well beyond its prime and I’m surprised they are still a part of the Marriott group since the standards here are poor. We requested daily housekeeping and that meant nothing more than an exchange of towels. The lounge offerings are skimpy and once closed if you need a snack go to the Circle K down the street. The room is dark and gloomy, and there’s an unpleasant sewer smell in the room constantly. Walls are thin and we were awakened by an alarm and barking dog in neighboring rooms. I don’t understand how Covid cleanliness standards are being met when the room is not cleaned. Don’t be fooled here by the Marriot name.

We have been loyal Marriott/Bonvoy patrons for years (Titanium level) but our experience at the Albuquerque Marriott Pyramid South left us cold. It was far below the standards we have come to expect from a Marriott chain hotel. Our check in process was anything but smooth due to insufficiently trained staff. Although we had booked two nights, one each in separate reservations, we were assured that the reservations were linked and we would keep our same room for the second night and our record was so annotated. Despite this assurance, we received a call while touring that we had to check out of our room for the first night. Our room, a one bedroom suite, had no complimentary water, was missing both glasses and plastic cups, had virtually no bathroom amenities, the bathroom had no vent plus the door was missing a stopper to prevent it from hitting the wall, a night stand lamp was missing its bulb and the room suffered from significant road noise, something that could have been moderated by using heavier window curtains. The Executive Lounge had one of the skimpiest assortments of snacks and did not offer any alcoholic beverages. The web site for the hotel did not permit on line check out (as confirmed by the manager Holly) and we were charged for a breakfast that should have been included based on our experience at other Marriotts and given our loyalty status. As owner/managers of a tour company for 27 years, we could neither recommend this hotel nor would we stay there again until a management change can address these shortcomings. The only positive was the service of the wait staff at the breakfast/dining area (albeit a very limited dining menu) which was very good.

Just checked into this old and dilapidated hotel. I travel a lot and in fact, I am a Marriott Franchisee and Platinum. Check in was a disaster. They couldn’t find my reservation so I was accused of making it up. Turns out they have two reservation systems and the person checking me in didn’t know how to access the reservation. The very rude front desk “manager”????? had a hard time finding me. Apparently it was my fault that I made the reservation same day!! Seems to me it’s their fault that they couldn’t find the reservation. No compensation for the inconvenience and they never have me my platinum food voucher or breakfast coupons. WOW. Just got to the smelly, old, dark room( no light bulbs in the lamps) Can’t wait to get out of here tomorrow!!!! Bad management in a very bad hotel.

Overnight stay in this Marriott. The hotel was quite busy because of the hot air balloon festival. The room was spacious, clean and well-stocked. Overall the hotel looks a little tired and rooms have not been updated in quite some time. The concierge lounge was small and super busy with just one person managing the breakfast service, who struggled to clear tables and keep the buffet supplied. Breakfast was the usual fair, eggs, bacon, fruit, breads. Unfortunately, only sugar-laden cold cereals….it would be nice to have a healthier option such as plain Cheerios or Raisin Bran (there is oatmeal available). We did not visit for the evening lounge service. One surprise was that I was not afforded the customary greeting with acknowledgement of loyalty when I checked in-this was a first. Overnight parking was $10-a charge for parking is surprising at this location with a non-secured lot and only self-parking.

My review is based on 10th floor lounge staff. Cintya is the best in the mornings! I have been going to this same hotel for over a year every other week and she has always been friendly and nice. It's a pleasure to have breakfast there! Anthony has always been nice as well when I check in/out.

Definitely bellow par of a Marriott hotel. This hotel needs an upgrade and urgent repair. This hotels is in urgent need for repairs and replacements. The rug was really worn out and stained. The closet door was literally ripped out, frames in the bathroom picture was broken. Marriott should really take away teh brand name of this hotel, or give it a different level brand. The breakfast in the concierge lounge is totally not worth it. I was charged for use of the it besides being a gold lifetime level, felt like a rip off, I could have paid for better food anywhere else. Zero upgrades for elite status. Not many options in Albuquerque, but this is not one of them on my next trip.

First the good: the staff there are wonderful! Couldn't ask for any better. It's also nice to have a "fancy" bar on the main floor to celebrate with friends. However, this hotel needs a bit of maintenance and attention. Hopefully this review will help them. I've been going to this hotel since the 1980s and still think it's an interesting design. The bad: the bathtub plumbing needs to be replaced, as the tub diverter sprayed water all over the floor creating a puddle. The toilet seat also needs to be replaced as the back tab is broken. Also, the bed was "ROCK HARD" and very uncomfortable. Hopefully these maintenance issues will be addressed and I will look forward to staying there, again.

Stayed here during a convention…hotel is looking exhausted not just tired..duck tape on carpets especially in public areas…bathroom door warped..ALL the furniture in the room was chipped or dented…food in restaurant was pretty good but the service was terrible…general lack of staff…lots of things labeled as under repair but it felt like the sign had been up for months if not longer…Marriott needs to pay attention to this property

We have stayed in this hotel several times a year for the last 5-6 years. It just continues to degrade and the last year it has declined rapidly. We are currently staying in our 2nd room of our 3 night stay. The first room was freezing and maintenance said the A/C was leaking terribly and he would get us another room. Room #2 (some time later) was also freezing. Apparently, the heaters/A/C units must be switched in each room, manually. So again, maintenance had to come to the room. No compensation was offered after this long fiasco after having traveled nearly 12 hours to get to this hotel. After visiting with the front desk, they did offer extra Marriott points. Really? This morning I was looking forward to the well advertised and never disappointing breakfast buffet. NOPE! There was no breakfast buffet because the hotel was not at 70% capacity? This doesn’t even make sense to me. The carpet is dirty and nasty. The refrigerator in our room is old, loud and froze our food while on the warmest setting. This hotel is in serious need of an upgrade starting at the front desk and moving up!
