We went here with some family during the air show, food was excellent and came out very quickly even tho they were very busy, the waitress Sophie was lovely and was running around but also made sure that we were enjoying our food, i will be recommending this to my friends.

Having stayed here on a previous 2 occasions, we were looking forward to this visit. Having arrived around 3.30pm, we checked in with the manager £185 for one night without breakfast. We were given an upgrade to Superior which was welcoming. We had stayed in this room a couple of years back when we found a lot of heavy stains on the underside of the bed runner…these stains are still there. Apart from 2 very sour apples near the coffee tray, there was nothing else. No tea bags and only one coffee cup. We immediately went downstairs where despite it being so busy we managed to get a table for lunch. We tried to order one of the guest ales to be told that there was none available due to the staff not having the time to change the barrels. The London pride was warm and flat. The Sunday roast was very underwhelming. All roast potatoes had been cooked hours earlier and had been kept barely warm. They were hard and virtually inedible. The Yorkshire was Soggy and nearly cold. The pigs in blankets and the cauliflower cheese had obviously been cooked earlier and an attempt to keep them warm had dried everything out. To top it all, everything came out on very cold plates. The young waiter looked embarrassed when we informed him. Later on that evening we tried to get some snacks or sandwiches to be told that there was nothing available and the kitchen was closed. My wife enjoyed her smoked salmon and scrambled egg at breakfast. I had the full English which again had pre cooked bacon, black pudding and 1 very small sausage, all of which had dried out. Very disappointed compared to our previous visits. We were told that they were busier than usual and had staff shortages. I fail to see why a hotel guest should have to put up with this type of service for these reasons especially when we have paid approx £270 in total for the privilege. The bedroom apart from the comments above is lovely and the outside settings perfect. It is such a shame that our visit was ruined by the level of service as described.

Went for coffee and cake after a walk. Coffee was in a take away cup as we were told to wait rather than bring the drinks out! Asked for cake but haven’t got any ! Not very good when this is advertised as coffee and cake. Seemed the manager was stressed and didn’t really interact with customers. Other places that are better nearby which is a shame.

Absolutely wonderful. Ella served us and was very attentive. Food was delicious. Plenty of choices for everyone’s pallet. We will definitely be back. Loved the wines too. Not to mention the flavoured gins and deserts Ella suggested we try!

We haven’t been here for a while as trying to explore other local places to have a catch up. This was a much needed and very relaxed catch up with friends. Although it was not busy service and food where excellent. Could not fault anything. Glad we went back. Will go again, soon

I have never visited before but historical this was always THE place to visit. What a disappointment. From the rude and indifferent man who took us to the table to the poor food I ordered the crispy shredded lamb on flatbread. I had three small and chewy pieces of lamb. Not at all crispy with white fat round the edges We waited and waited to pay the bill. The man on the next table went to search for someone to pay Are they trading on the location. Which is beautiful. I would expect more. Certainly the customer care

I eat in this restaurant every month and I am never disappointed. The staff are engaging and courteous. The food is gastro pub plus plus. The portions are good and the menu changes regularly. I am always happy to eat in this restaurant. I’m happy to entertain guests there.

We love this place, gluten free menu is amazing (separate fryers for chips etc). It is quite expensive (which means we don't visit as much as we would like to) but the food is excellent quality. Tables are quite spaced out which is a nice change compared to other restaurants.

We were enchanted when on our holiday we first clapped eyes on the white Georgian Mill House, swathed in bright spring flowers. We enjoyed our light lunch in this picturesque restaurant, eaten overlooking the lilypond complete with heron and kingfisher. So we booked for that evening. A lovely waitress - we have found all Brunning & Price Front-of-House staff efficient and charming. But our food? I ordered fish pie - and after a long wait got instead a little stack of very dry fish with 'wooden prawns' Though hot itself, it stood in a lake of almost-cold creamy sauce - but nothing to mop or eat it with. It was NOT a PIE! The waitress changed it for a Morrocan chicken - but that was uneatable, too... I have never been disappointed like this in any of the other five Brunning & Price pubs I have frequently visited. My husband had to leave a wholly uncooked whole shallot and tough cabbage, though hunger drove him to eat his non-unctuous ox cheek. The waitress insisted that we do not pay for our meal - even the wine, though we were quite prepared to. We were very grateful to her, but SO disappointed to leave that enchanting restaurant hungry... Can only conclude the chef arrived late and rushed...
