JS Sol de Alcudia

We really enjoyed our stay at JS Sol de Alcudia. The staff was really kind and helpful. They even surprised me on my birthday with a prosecco prepared in our room. Every night there was a show at the bar area, which we also really liked. Breakfast and dinner had plenty of variety, so we could pick what we prefered. I only can recommend this hotel and this area of Mallorca, it’s better than the capital.

This is a very strange hotel. The lobby is beautiful and misleads you into thinking you are at a 5* resort. Unfortunately, there were several things that added up to a poor experience. After check in, we were directed to an extremely cramped set of rickety elevators that would not be out of place in a flat built in the 1970s. This poses a huge challenge if you have luggage. We had to take 3 trips to get upstairs with just 2 adults, a baby, and minimal luggage. We got to the room late at night only to discover two maintenance issues: 1) The room was absolutely freezing as the AC was stuck at the lowest thermostat setting. The electrician informed us that due to a fault, the AC could only be permanently switched on or off through the main fuse box. The rest of my week consisted of making several trips to the fuse box to ensure the room was neither swelteringly hot nor freezing cold. 2) The bathroom sink was clogged when we checked in and we had to call the maintenance team to unclog it. Another minor inconvenience was that the hotel has the Do Not Disturb and Please Clean the Room signs permanently fixed outside the door. Each time, we put up the Do Not Disturb sign, someone from outside used to change this to Please Clean the Room leading to staff showing up when we did not want to be disturbed. All of this was unfortunate because overall, our sea-view room was extremely spacious and clean with modern fittings and a huge balcony. The hotel has no parking. You will need to rely on street parking, which is free but not easy to get. Depending on your luck, you may need to circle the block a few times until you find a spot to park. The biggest disappointment was the dining room, which felt like a factory conveyor belt. The quantity of food available is immense. The quality is immensely disappointing. We stayed 4 nights and each night the food was consistently poor. Moreover, the serving plates and glasses were absolutely filthy. At breakfast, 95% of the ”clean” coffee mugs next to the coffee machine had stains or food particles on them (see attached pic). Same with the ”clean” plates, most of which had food particles or stains on them. Moreover, the staff at the dining room are a bit disingenuous. At breakfast, water is free. At dinner, water is charged - something you need to figure out the hard way as they conveniently don't bother to tell you. The property itself is well landscaped and consists of 3 pools, including one for babies. There is also a kids play area alongside organized kids activities although most of these were directed to older, Spanish-speaking kids. Overall, this hotel could be very good but appears to be quite poorly managed. Definitely not returning.

What a place…. Can’t wait to book up again!! After a stressful transfer from the airport the arrival at this hotel made everything better…. Glass of fizz for the adults and ice lollies for the kids during check in.. while a member of staff took the case to our room! Hotel grounds and rooms absolutely spotless! Food… something for everyone with different themes each night… chef on a morning makes a good omelette!!! Staff are great… so friendly and really want to do the best for you and go out of their way to make a fuss of the kids! The location is perfect.. less than a minute to the beautiful beach which means it’s quick and easy to pop back for lunch at the food truck!

Nice hotel in the main I wouldn't rate as 4 star as the rooms are very small and sp**** looking and could do with a refresh, there wasn't any storage room put your case's away out of site. The hotel overall is very pleasant and everywhere is clean. The hotel is next to the main road in alcudia so traffic noise is always present around the pool or if your on your balcony (but it does go quiet after 11pm)so sleeping was never a problem and the beds where comfortable. Staff where very pleasant and polite. Breakfast wasn't to English taste.but there was always a selection to keep you going.Evening meal again a selection of food take the hunger off,but we can't say we enjoyed that much.Pool bar did lovely food/snacks and prices not too expensive for a hotel.Overall we enjoyed our stay but the room size and no frills sp****ness would put us off going there again would rate it as 3 star plus.

After reading the reviews on other solo travelers having a good experience at this hotel I decided to book and I’m so glad that I did. It’s a new hotel so everything has a clean modern fresh feel to it and it offers everything you could ask for. The hotel interior and pool areas are stunning and it felt more like a 5 star. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was even a pillow menu with 4 different pillow types you could request from reception and a smart tv with free Netflix and YouTube. The open plan bathroom and toilet didn’t bother me as a solo traveler but perhaps if it was with a friend or new relationship I maybe wouldn’t feel super comfortable with it. When the toilet door was closed which acts as both shower and toilet door depending on position it felt like a posh porter cabin but again not an issue for me personally. The balcony was lovely and if you’re able to request Block B, I was in room (531) you get a lovely side view of the lake. I didn’t eat food here so can’t comment but the cocktails for €7 each were reasonable. It’s less than a 5 minute walk to the beach and surrounded by many shops and restaurants. The staff were lovely and I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. I would definitely return !

Great hotel, great staff and excellent food Main restaurant is very well laid out and food placement is well thought out. Pool area is great, only negative is that being an amputee I use my wheelchair round the pool and the hoist is out of service so I have to I.provise getting out of the pool a d back in my chair. Going here again in July and September so hoping new owners repair it. The a la carte restaurant is a waste of good space that could be used 7 days a week as a lounge bar as there is only the pool bar and it is very busy at night. Don't need a computer area, one PC in this day is enough. Most people have smart phones. Very relaxing hotel if you just want to chill.
