Amazing hotel. Lovely room. Excellent dinner and fantastic breakfast. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. This hotel is a real gem. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary here. Lovely place. Located right in the centre of Painswick so a nice place from which to explore the village.

Booked a few rooms to enjoy a holiday with family & friends and WOW, what a treat! Lovely rooms, slightly quirky interior, relaxing bar and fabulous food from breakfast to a three course evening meal. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and attentive…. Already booked again for next year.

My wife and I stayed here on a New Years package (it was also our wedding anniversary) for two nights and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had an issue with noisy neighbours in our originally allocated room but the staff were so sympathetic and professional in finding us an alternative room that was very much appreciated by us. The hotel was very cozy and comfortable and the food generally was good. The husband and wife management team who run this hotel were amazing as they treated us and other guests with the utmost care and attention throughout our stay and the rest of the staff were equally courteous and efficient too. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a mini break in the Cotswolds.

Booked for afternoon tea to celebrate a special family birthday. Staff friendly & service excellent. Good food. Scotch eggs were superb & scones equally delicious. Good selection of sandwiches. Beautiful historic building in a lovely location. Only drawback for us was a lack of downstairs toilet as my mother has mobility issues, so maybe not tha best choice if disabled. That said, not fault of The Painswick & we thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

We stayed at the Painswick for two nights to celebrate my birthday - a surprise organised by my wife. What can I say but wow. An amazing hotel, with the immediate bonus that we had a room upgrade to a Terrace room. This had a lovely view out over the valley and was a very comfortable space with such things as a small selection of books, a jar of homemade cookies, robes in the spacious bathroom and more. The hotel itself was very nice with two comfortable lounges and a lovely restaurant. There is also a small room with a pool table and for warmer weather a lovely outdoor terrace and balcony. We ate in the restaurant for my birthday dinner and the food was superb. I had the best venison I have eaten in a long time and the sharing apple tarte tatin was delicious. Breakfast on both mornings was excellent, a good choice of a la carte hot items are accompanied by a small but perfect buffet of cereals, fruit, bread, pastries and jams. The only downside is that the homemade crumpets were so fantastic I can never look at a shop bought one the same way again! Overall a fabulous place and would happily visit again! The car park is small and access can be challenging - but this is an old (and presumably listed) building.

Want an absolute DREAM! I found this spot on Instagram when planning a trip with my daughter. It was beyond expectations. The staff is incredible, beyond. So lovely, warm and help. The room (Doverhill Suite) was gorgeous, bed was a dream, the views unforgettable, fireplace magical and all felt so comfortable. The food was amazing, breakfast included was so thoughtfully done and satisfying, tasting menu was out of this world and afternoon team was just right. I cannot wait to come back!
