Excellent value for money, also ideal in winter for business trips. Excellent breakfast, ditto cleaning, very professional staff.

We had a very good experience at Alma hotel. Staff were very helpful and kind, breakfast was delicious and with a wide selection of food and beverages. Our room was nice, quiet and very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is located in front of the sea and just a 10 minutes walk from the historic center. We definitely recommend it.

Everything was excellent. Breakfast had a lot of choice. The room was little, but very clean. Nice seaview from the top, where is the pool. The temperature of the water was icecold, but i like it. The view from the room had just a little "seaview"😂 They had an electric car, what you can rent.

Well, this was a tough review to write because the staff was very nice and patient with us as they made their best efforts to make us comfortable. First, we were offered a room with very little floor space because there was a single bed along with the double bed in the "Superior Double" room we booked on ******* and then after we complained we were moved to another room which had some type of alarm malfunction so in the end we were offered a decent-sized double room with a balcony and view of the water. It smelled of disinfectant but by then we were not going to complain further. We just kept the sliding door open during our stay for fresh air. So, I would rate the desk staff 4 or 5 stars given their effort to please us at check-in and for their further greetings and good cheer as we came and left the hotel, but I would rate the hotel 3-star, certainly by US standards, at best comparable to a Holiday Inn or Ramada Inn, not quite a Hampton Inn or Embassy Suite.

I have not written an extensive review like this about a hotel before but I need to be honest about the hotel for other people considering booking it. I have been very fortunate to stay in many 4 star hotels all over the world. I travel a lot. This hotel is not like a 4 star hotel and in my opinion not worth the money you pay for it. My honest advice would be to book a 3 star in this area for a fraction of the price. This hotel is a 3 star which has been updated with cheap materials and furniture and is now charging 4 star prices. In general the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from other rooms and floors. Good things: the hotel is in a great location. You can walk to the old town in 20 minutes and you can also walk to Pia Maria Beach in 20 minutes. The staff who work in the reception, bar and breakfast area are lovely. The housekeeping staff also do a good daily job. Although we did have an issue with cockroaches. Please read on! I will start off with the rooms. We booked 2 rooms - one sea view and one comfort double. We arrived to the hotel at 8am and were unable to check in until later. Totally fair enough. We went to the pool for a few hours. When they called us to check in the receptionist gave my parents their room number and then my room number. I remembered reading some poor reviews about room 405 being really noisy so I told the receptionist I did not want this room. He told me this was the room he was giving me. He tried to tell me it was an upgrade (read this same thing in other reviews) as it had a sea view and there was nothing he could do.I told him I wanted a quiet room like the one I booked and I was not interested in a noisy room with a sea view. His repose was he could do nothing for me. At this point I needed to remind him that he was not providing me with the room I had booked and paid for. He then tells me he can move me tomorrow. I spent one night in this room. I can confirm it is a terrible room and avoid at all costs. The hotel should not have guests in this room - so noisy and no privacy. I was woken really early in the morning (well before 7am) with all the noise coming from the kitchen and dining area as the staff got ready for breakfast. Every single guest in the hotel walks past the door to get to breakfast. It feels like they are in the room with you - chatting and kitchen noises - so loud. Not a 4 star hotel room. Even during the day it's noisy as you can hear people dining and drinking and the kitchen staff working. When I got to the room the balcony door was broken. It would not close or lock. A big security issue given you are right next to the bar/dining area and anyone from the bar/dining/kitchen area can climb over the wall and into the room. I called reception and they came up and could not fix it. They called another man and he came and replaced the door handle. Scrolled back through some reviews. Apparently this door has been broken since earlier in the year. The safes n the rooms are no

We stayed for 8 days. The hotel was very clean through out. The staff were very friendly especially the Breakfast staff who were always smiling. The breakfast was fabulous. Fresh fruit was on hand everyday to make your own fruit drinks. The omelettes and fried eggs cooked fresh in front of you. Great variety of cheeses, breads and cakes. They provided gluten free items also. The bedrooms were very clean and bright and the bathroom had a fab spacious shower. Kettle, tea and coffee were provided in the room. The hotel is setback from the roadside and this means no traffic noise. The beach is across the road where there are beach bars, beds and umbrellas. There is a lovely clean safe promenade from the beach side all the way to old town which is about a 15 mins walk. Short walk to train station. Good supermarket 5 minutes away. There is a roof top swimming pool in the hotel which has beds and umbrellas, the water in the pool is very clean but cold. The bar facilities appears not to be used very often due to its small size. This was the one area that let this lovely quiet hotel down. We went to the old town most nights. We were very happy with our stay in this hotel and would recommend it to others.

We have just checked out a day early from hotel Alma. I truly don’t mean this to be a scathing review, just a completely transparent one. I do also want to start by saying much as this hotel disappointed us, the staff were absolutely brilliant. Everyone we spoke to was helpful and friendly. This hotel looked amazing online so we booked. We paid extra for a Deluxe double with sea view. When we arrived, our initial impression was disappointing. The hotel is down a dark alley, and the bar in the reception area is tiny. We were informed there is no restaurant here (to be fair we should have checked online first, we just assumed there would be a restaurant on site). We got to the Room, the whole room smelled stale and the bedding absolutely stank of mildew and mould. It was dark and raining when we arrived so we thought perhaps we were being unfair and said we should give it another chance in the morning when it was bright. We stayed in room 401, which was on the same floor as the breakfast room. From 7am, we heard every guest in the hotel walk up and down for their breakfast. The room had a balcony but the door was jammed. We also didn’t realise the hotel faced a busy road so we heard noise from traffic all night. The decor in the room was tired and dated, the curtains in the room were covered in holes from general wear and tear. There was only a thin sheet on the bed, there was a duvet without a cover in the wardrobe but this smelled like it had not been washed from the previous guests. The hair dryer in the room is one of those ancient ones that kept overheating and only worked for 30 second intervals at a time. We tried to go for breakfast on 3 different occasions. We could not get a table the first 2 so had to keep going back to check for a table. When we did get a table the choice was very limited. Flies were landing over the uncovered food, dairy products were left sitting out unrefrigerated and the toaster didn’t work. The hot food options consisted of undercooked scrambled egg, dry bacon, baked beans and chopped up sausage. The bread that was out was stale. The hotel advertised an outdoor rooftop pool which looked amazing in Photos. In reality this pool was a massive let down. The pool itself is small and does not have a bar area - seriously? Why would a rooftop pool in a holiday destination not have a bar? Again, maybe our fault for not checking this first but it would be safe to assume there would be a bar. Also because of the storm the day before and the pool being uncovered the water was filthy and full of debris. The hotel had parking but charged €15 a day for the parking which is a bit steep. I understand this hotel may be ideal for some people, but this was our honest opinion. The hotel has so much potential but is just massively oversold and overpriced in our opinion. The photos are completely misleading and the property looks nothing like the photos. It is also around a 25 minute walk to Alghero old town. We wouldn’t Recomme
