Novotel Almaty City Center

Novotel Almaty City Centre Hotel. Set in the heart of Almaty City, a few hundred feet from the iconic Soviet era Khazakstan Hotel and 20 to 30 minutes from Almaty Airport, this Novotel is modern, clean and with all the usual, essential amenities. Only one main downside is the room aircon is set by the hotel during winter months to run warm. It cannot be adjusted in the room so it became too hot and stuffy. We had to call an engineer who just unlocked the window security lock and we had to have the window wide open through the night allowing all the street noise below to echo into the room. A pleasant stay for a few nights if travelling onwards, but a bit pricey at £170.00 pounds sterling a night for two people!

Perfect stay at the Novotel city centre, upon checking in Armand at reception noticed it was my daughter’s birthday few days ago so he gave my daughter & son as toy gift which was very sweet! The hotel has decent clean rooms & it’s in the perfect location, the Koke tobe cable carts are next door & Dostyk mall is a 15mins walk away. The hotel had a great breakfast spread with fresh pastries and a variety of food choices, lunch & dinner menu can be improved a little but still ok it just has a limited variety. Unfortunately, the pool & spa was under maintenance so was not open so we couldn’t use. Also thanks to Armand we got a late check out for both our rooms! A very nice jolly chap!

In summary, Novotel Almaty City Center is a practical, well-run hotel that meets the expectations of business travelers, with a professional tone and minimal friction across the guest journey.

Located right next door to the Kok-Tobe cablecar station, and in walking distance to lots of good cafes and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable and the service was friendly and professional. Breakfast was a little crowded and understaffed (some empty breakfast options and lots of dirty plates etc), so I recommend going to breakfast earlier. However, this didn't affect my stay, and I would stay here again.
