We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment, the apartment was huge! Very clean, basic but had everything we needed. Kitchen was well equipped , oven hob dishwasher. Pool area was nice and relaxing and the staff were friendly. Booked to return May 2027!

Stay as far away from this place as possible…. Filthy with the worst customer service you could ask for. Rooms serviced every 4 days and that was only a change of towels. When we requested fresh towels after day 3 , we were refused and the ‘lady’ at the reception actually smirked and shrugged her shoulders when we got upset about not having clean towels. The bathroom was filthy with dirt residue all over the wash hand basin and the bath itself. The place was swarming with ants with them even in the beds, the pool had muck or something it and on the second last day, a rat ran across the grounds. Waste including food waste left on the ground beside the waste bin area outside for days so no surprise with the rats.

This Summer was our third stay at club Alvor we always have a lovely time, love the location and staff are friendly but what made our stay special this time was Laura in kids club. From the moment we arrived before we could check into the room we were greeted by Laura for the kids to play in kidz club and join in activities. Her fun, caring and empathic nature was a lovely experience for our children and they made memories they’ll never forget. They ended up enjoying their time in kidz club more than beautiful Alvor at times. Lovely experience we had an accommodation only stay but the pool staff and bar staff were also lovely. Would recommend to families with young children.

We visited in August 2026 and stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment. The apartment was in good condition and clean on arrival. There was air conditioning in the main room and 2 of the bedrooms which was not perfect but did not effect our stay. There was a change of towels and our beds were made once during the week which worked fine for us. We didn't eat at the restaurant. The beach is approx. a 15-20 min walk and the same for the restaurants, which were always busy and a good variety /quality I have 2 criticisms of the hotel, firstly there is a chronic shortage of beds by the pool. Also people were clearly getting there early to reserve them and then leaving for a sustained period of time. The hotel could really do with improving this situation as it definitely affected our stay. Secondly the WIFI in the room does not work, which for a hotel nowadays is not really acceptable Other than those 2 things we enjoyed our stay but would not rush back.

I booked out apartment 612 and we have an infestation of ants - my skin is crawling. Furthermore, the apartment is extremely ill equipped- no electric kettle (unpowered kettle takes 15 minutes to heat up) toaster that needs held down to operate, no tea towels, no baking trays, no brush and shovel (to sweep up the ants) curtains hanging off the poles, no kitchen bin, awful pillows etc . Too much to list! I have an apartment in Edinburgh which I rent out and I’m actually appalled at the state of this apartment. I honestly couldn’t live with myself - I’d be so ashamed. To access this apartment you need to climb an external metal bridge - not easy with cases. I wouldn’t stay in this apartment again and certainly wouldn’t recommend it - even at 1/2 the price.

Avoid booked 9th June till 16june paid in full man come knocking on 14th June said the bill had not been paid paid the bill again when I got home got a bank statement that showed two payments taken the hotel refusing to reply to my emails disgrace

Basic but had what was needed for budget traveller. Nice pool but the pool bar looked like a cafeteria. No ambience

Great value 3 star accommodation. I visited as a solo traveller mid May for a quick week away. Yes very dated but in a good way. You might even say Traditional. Helpful friendly staff . Super clean spacious Cool rooms Separate living room , full kitchen, balcony . Great location easy walk into town or to the beach free parking All of the shared facilities have been upgraded and updated since our last visit five years ago. If you want 5 star ( we have also stayed at Tivoli and several of the Pestana's for other reasons eg to celebrate family occasions ) then by all means go ahead and pay those prices.
