The door was not locked with a password, but with a key. I spent a long time looking for the key.

The hotel is right on the road, easy to find, and parking is convenient, the parking fee is 12 pounds. The room facilities are old and the soundproofing is not good. There is a driveway outside the window, a walkway at the door, and all kinds of noise coming from the ceiling and upstairs. Stay for one night and continue on the road the next day. In addition, children are charged an additional 25 pounds per person. The reservation indicates that children cannot be brought in because no extra beds can be added. Oh, there is a big hole in the bed sheet.

The house in the lake area has a great view. The landlord is very considerate. The room is warm and lovingly decorated. The details are well handled. It is especially clean and hygienic. The heating is turned on at night. Like 👍👍

Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Check in and out so easy. Buffet breakfast was ideal for us so we could easily eat as much or as little as we liked according to how we were about to spend our day …ie starting a hike after a lighter meal rather than the usual full English. Loved our room….best room in Ambleside that we’ve experienced so far and we’ve visited many times. Views from our room are amazing and interesting as they look out at the park with various activities taking place. Location was great too…close to restaurants, shops and start of various hiking trails. Car park on site and with plenty of room. We’ll be back …! Thank you Brathay Lodge.

We've been coming to Brathay Lodge for a number of years when visiting the Lakes. Always a warm welcome here. Accommodation is lovely, huge comfy bed and refurbished bathrooms are great. Best shower ever! Plentiful breakfast of cereals, fresh fruit, bread and pastries, cold meats and cheese. Super location overlooking the putting green and the beautiful church. Wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Such a good location, the rooms were large and well equipped (family room). Decent continental breakfast set us all up for busy days exploring the various walks in the area.

Enjoyed a very comfortable one nights stay. The room was spotless, beautiful bathroom with fabulous showers facilities. Comfortable bed and excellent welcome tray the good sized mugs. The continental breakfast was superb, so much choice. Car parking included was a bonus and so close to the town centre. Staff very welcoming great service why would you go anywhere else? Definitely stay again it was all fabulous.

Welcoming reception, clean rooms and great effort by the accommodation staff. We had a wonderful room overlooking the front of the Lodge and cannot thank the owners enough.

We have stayed here many times over the years and always love it, as it's clean, the rooms are well furnished, the staff and management always helpful, the cold buffet breakfast of many choices suits us down to the ground, as we prefer it to fried food before walking up the fells, and guaranteed parking in the centre of Ambleside is always a bonus, so what's no to like?, we have gone for a superior room the last few times as they have a bath as well as a shower, with a super king bed, big TV. and plenty of space, it's well worth paying the extra IMHO

Lovely welcome on our arrival. A big comfortable room with a cool electric fire and a large TV. Really close to all shops, restaurants and amenities.

The location is perfect in Ambleside with the car park just beside it. It is a short walk to bars and restaurants and perfect for starting walks into the countryside. Lovely clean bathroom. Breakfast continental and plenty of choice.

We've not stayed for a couple of years but were welcomed back as old friends. Brathay Lodge suits us as it's always clean and comfortable. New bathrooms and new carpets add to the experience. We will be back.

Another fabulous stay ,nothing is to much trouble for the staff. Great location. Fabulous selection for breakfast to start the day . If you need anything just ask .
