One of Amsterdam’s oldest and finest 5-star hotels, Tivoli Doelen Amsterdam Hotel was recently renovated in 2015. During the past three centuries, Empress Elisabeth of Austria and the Beatles have taken rooms here. Located in the heart of the city, the hotel is close to Dam Square, the Anne Frank House, canal boats, the Heineken Brewery and the Van Gogh Museum. It is also only a short walk to the shopping district, bars and restaurants. The 81 refurbished rooms are designed in classical tones with red and gold accents. They let in natural light through large windows and many look out over the Amstel river. For guests’ comfort, there are premium mattresses, pillow menus, rain-effect showers and Nespresso machines in each room. Fresh breakfast is served daily, featuring a large spread that includes local specialty dishes, gluten-free options and dishes made-to-order. If you prefer to stay in, you may also use the 24-hour room service. The hotel has free Wi-Fi and beautiful summer terrace.

Really warm service, and the location is fantastic -- would also recommend paying more for the canal view. The only little thing that bugged me was the design of the shower where the ledge isn't high enough and water keeps overflowing out to the main floor.

The location is very good , and the staffs are very friendly. However, the hotel is little bit old , and easy to hear the noise next to the room .

We loved the location of the hotel. We were given a room on the first floor overlooking the canal. The service was excellent and the staff tried to assist us in any way they could. My coffee bar was not stocked one morning because they were out of creamers and they apologized and made sure I was fully stocked the next day. My only complaint was how small our room was....but we adjusted and enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam!

The hotel is in an excellent location, and is within walking distance of various attractions. The service staff is very enthusiastic, and a glass of welcome champagne was given on the day of arrival. Mr. Bora from the Omber bar specially made two cocktails according to my taste, thank you very much. The only drawback of the hotel is that I was given a room opposite the elevator, which was very noisy. In addition, the water temperature in the bathroom was not hot enough, I hope the hotel can improve it
