Very good

The location is fantastic, just a few hundred meters from Central Station. You simply walk straight down the main road for a few minutes and you're there. The only thing is the entrance is a bit hidden, and the front desk is on the second floor. They offer complimentary self-service coffee, tea, and hot water, which is a rare find! The gentleman at the front desk was very welcoming. We arrived early and our room wasn't ready, but he kindly let us store our luggage in a cabinet in the room so we could head out and explore unburdened. The room itself is quite small, and the stairs are narrow, which could be a challenge if you have large suitcases. Downstairs, there's a highly-rated fries place, a popular spot since 2018, and it's still there with a line every day – definitely worth trying, it's really good! This time, we also happened to catch a parade, which was an interesting experience; even the front desk staff came down to watch the excitement! Lastly, about the weather: it hailed in May, which was unexpected, but it wasn't cold inside at all! When traveling, cleanliness and safety are paramount, and the convenient location meant we spent most of our days out exploring. Oh, and it's only about 500 meters from ***, so it was super convenient to watch the festivities! Haha!

I chose this hotel because the location. Short world from the Amsterdam Central train/Metro station. Also near most of the attractions I wanted to visit. Shop and restaurants surrounding by this hotel. Unfortunately, I did not know there was no elevators. Beware there's a lot of steps and you are on your own. If you have small luggage don't mind to carry 2 to 3 level up. That's ok, otherwise it is no, no. Room was small as typical Europe old building like. Not much hot water and water pressure when taking a shower. Noise was unavoidable, the people who walking, talking n closing their door you can hear. Honestly, I felt overpaid this kind of motel old and too many steps/stairs. Daily housekeeping only changed towels n removed trash. They didn't clean the toilet?

Over 100 years old building.
Without window & without elevator
You can hear someone come and go and next door someone was talking.

We stayed one day and the hotel manager demanded us must change our room from 3 single bed to a double bed room with their reasons of room lighting issue. You can see all lighting was ok, if all fine.
The only reasons was, they want to sell our room to others and demand us to changed our paid 3 singles bed room into a double room.
I am serious to complain this illegal action.
In fact from the trip.com open looking the main photo on trip.com was not the image of the hotel.
It is miss leading us to book this hotel.
Trip.com sales management “must” check all main image must be the hotel main building and not other tourist places photo.
Again this is illegal to miss lead customers.
In conclusion, we are very very disappointed with this hotel ill treatment to demand us must change room.
Also, this hotel no escalator cost big issue for senior to checking in with big bags by ourselves.

I’ve never seen a hotel this bad. Don't stay here, don't stay here, don't stay here! I booked a twin room, but when I got in, it was a single room. The front desk guy, who was really rude, said, 'Isn't a single room fine for just one person?' I had booked for two nights but checked out after one, not even bothering about the refund. It was impossible to sleep because of the noise. The stairwell offered zero soundproofing, and people were still walking up and down, talking loudly until 3 or 4 AM. The stairs in this hotel are incredibly steep and shaky, and there's no elevator. The hygiene was terrible too; I could see black dust on the comforter, and the room had a strange odor. The weirdest part was that even though the air conditioner wasn't on, it would suddenly make strange blowing noises several times in the middle of the night, and a foul-smelling draft would come out. I was so exhausted after one night that I just left the next day.

The room was tiny, but perfectly adequate. The location is absolutely fantastic, right out of Central Station and a straight shot to all the main attractions. It was also very clean. You can get hot water and coffee at the reception. They also offer luggage storage.
It's a great spot if you're transferring through Amsterdam. You can take the train directly from the airport to Central Station and walk right over – super convenient!

The room was quite clean, but it's really not suitable for winter stays – it was too cold. The air conditioning didn't work well, and even the small heater they gave me didn't help. When I asked the front desk for an extra blanket, they wouldn't give me one.

I was prepared for the stairs based on previous reviews, but it was still more challenging than expected. I was assigned room 401, which meant climbing 5 flights. The spiral staircase in this old building was a bit difficult. However, in an expensive city like Amsterdam, for this price, and with a central location within a 10-minute walk of Central Station, canal boat tours, Chinatown, and the Royal Palace, what more can you complain about? There's no kettle in the room, so I recommend bringing your own. Although there's a coffee machine in the reception area on the ground floor where you can get hot water, it's not very convenient to go up and down from the 4th floor.

Very basic low budget hotel. Note that there is no lift here. Just winding stairs. There is no mirror inside the room just inside the bathroom so for ladies to get ready, it’s gonna be difficult. Wish they can revamp abit the furnitures.

I chose this hotel because of its location. It's very close to the center. Everything is within easy reach. Don't expect too much in terms of cleanliness and amenities. It's also ideal in terms of price-performance ratio.

No electric kettle, and the staff were cold and unhelpful. You have to climb three flights of narrow stairs, which is impossible if you have large luggage. The room facilities were old and outdated, and the room itself was tiny. This was the worst hotel of our entire Europe trip. The only upside is that the location is relatively close to the train station.

Great location, very convenient for transport. The stairs are quite narrow and steep, so it can be a bit challenging if you have large luggage. The owner was very kind and helped us change rooms.
