Panamericana Hotel Ancud

Beautiful location on a promontory, above a Spanish fort. A bit Spartan, but very pleasant

The staff were cordial and helpful. The buffet breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. However, our dinners were not worth the money spent. They need to get a new chef, especially when it comes to European food.

Great location overlooking the ocean. Rooms were very small. Otherwise the hotel was great.

The hotel Ancud is okay for a short stay. The rooms were a bit dingy and the whole place needed some love.

It’s easy to get lost finding this hotel as it goes by 2 different names: Panamericana and Ancud, and neither is written on the building. That might explain why there were very few people staying there. Our room was tiny even though we paid more through ********** than the hotel charged. Be sure to request an even numbered room which will be larger. The restaurant food was tasteless, but a 15 minute walk away is Restaurante La Pincoya which serves delicious, ample-sized, and affordable meals, including vegetarian choices. Good service, friendly staff. Too bad the same can’t be said for Hotel Panamericana/Ancud.

Charming and rustic hotel - love the wood craftsmanship and wooden ship details. Beautiful sunset view from the upper loft above the restaurant. Very clean and simple rooms at a price not seen in the USA since about the 1980’s. Food was excellent and breakfast buffet well appointed. Definitely would stay here again if we return to Chiloe.

DEATH TRAP! Fire exits are padlocked!! This is a disaster waiting to happen!! In case of an emergency you are unable to exit the building via the approved emergency exits!! This is extremely dangerous and I would not recommend anyone to stay here!!
