Hotel Heladiv

A beautiful oasis of calm 10 minutes from the bustle of Anuradhapura. Warmest of welcomes from Tananga and his staff. Room was spacious and well provisioned. Breakfast was excellent as was dinner when we ate in. Excellent value for money, clean and tidy both inside and outside. Highly recommend staying here if you want friendly, efficient service.

We arrived in the evening after booking this hotel last minute. The staff were very unwelcoming and the middle aged man on reception was extremely rude. I was travelling with my Sri Lankan husband and family, and our small baby. Clearly the man on reception was mistreating (******) towards our group due to being Sri Lankan. We weren’t even acknowledged on arrival and we had to request to check in and to get our keys. Whilst my husband was checking the room, my father in law attempted to engage in conversation with the middle aged man on reception - he was completely ignored multiple times as the man on reception looked straight past him, at foreign tourists instead. I was appalled! We therefore left and found a different hotel. It was an awful experience and from looking at reviews it clearly isn’t isolated.

Everything was very average. The food was okay, same with the rooms, the toilet leaked a little bit and there was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom. There were no cosy places to relax: the benches, chairs and swimmingpool furniture were uncomfortable. The staffmember who served us during dinner was not very friendly and did not understand a lot of English. Well maintained and nice garden though. I would not go back.

Absolutely amazing stay! This small and friendly hotel completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed by the incredibly warm and caring staff, who made me feel right at home. The atmosphere was cozy, charming, and so relaxing — exactly what I was looking for. My room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. What truly makes this hotel special is the personal attention and kindness you receive, something you rarely find in larger hotels. I loved every moment of my stay and honestly can’t wait to come back. Highly, highly recommended!

Wonderful courteous staff. Clean. Hand- manager. All requests catered for. Definitely come back. Recommend anyone visiting Anuradapura

Lovely little hotel. All staff were lovely and welcoming. Food was good. Manager was friendly and kind. We only stayed for one night and didn’t use the pool but the pool area and garden were beautiful. Rooms was spacious and bed was comfortable. Overall a very positive stay.
