Where do I even begin? Let me start with the food! The two young chefs at Wilpattu Safari Camp are absolute gems. Their traditional Sri Lankan dishes were so flavourful that we looked forward to every meal. Even the packed breakfasts and lunches for our safari drives were thoughtfully prepared, delicious, and incredibly satisfying. The tents were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The beds were fitted with insect nets, which honestly made me feel like I was sleeping like a princess every night! What truly sets this camp apart is the hospitality. The team goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. Sharing stories over meals in the beautifully lit dining tent created such a warm and memorable atmosphere. The camp is not overcrowded, which makes the experience feel exclusive and peaceful, with plenty of opportunities to photograph wildlife and birds right around the camp. Safety is clearly a priority here. The staff personally escorted us to and from our tents after dark, adding an extra touch of care (and yes, definitely more princess vibes!). A special mention goes to Patrick, who was incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived. He even went out of his way to help resolve an issue with my memory card, something I truly appreciated. The location is another huge advantage. Situated very close to the entrance of Wilpattu National Park, it allows guests to be among the first vehicles into the park each morning, maximizing wildlife viewing opportunities while minimizing travel time. I highly recommend Wilpattu Safari Camp to anyone visiting Wilpattu National Park. From the food and comfort to the exceptional hospitality and perfect location, it was an unforgettable experience.
